Meet Amy Marolf | Fitness & Nutrition Coach, Connector, Influencer and Proud Mom

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Marolf and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Work ethic and taking on responsibility was instilled in my home at a young age. As a little girl, I was intrinsically driven and had the desire to do well at most everything from my chores on the farm to good grades in school to working hard in sports. It made me feel good and made others proud of me. I eventually learned how to be proud of myself too. That’s important!
Connecting and networking with people has also been something that has helped me succeed. I’ve always been fascinated, curious and enthusiastic when it comes to meeting new people from any and all walks of life. There are no strangers to me, just friends I have yet to meet! Smiling at everyone I see, asking questions, being a good listener. knowing their dog’s name and genuinely being interested in the person. It’s powerful in business and life.
Learning from the best and brightest. I found a business mentor who I met with quarterly. She helped me set up systems for efficiencies, hire an assistant, pushed me out of my own comfort zone and believed in me and the services I was providing. She’s a wealth of knowledge and support! (Thanks, Carrie!!)
The last one is less thinking and talking about it, the more doing! It’s an action habit. Many people want advice or have ideas, but nobody wants to do the work. If you cut the time you spend deliberating in half and spent that time actively pursuing what you want, how much farther ahead do you think you’d be?

What should our readers know about your business?
My fitness journey began in 2011 after my son, Sam, was born. I resigned from the Denver Broncos after 10 years as Sr. Director of Corporate Partner Services. I wanted to focus my time and energy into being a new mom and also use my business experience and love for people to do work that I was passionate about.
During that time, I also became a single mom. It was a very hard time in my life and little did I know at that time, how much my workouts were helping me work through a lot of stress and emotions. My dedication to health, fitness and nutrition grew fast and fierce at that point. You know what else grew? My muscles! It was the timing of those two things that really inspired me to get into the fitness world. I loved how incredible I felt, I loved the new, strong composition of my body and I loved how it was inspiring others. That’s when I decided to start my business – Amy Marolf Fitness.
Was it easy? No! I was used to having a big corporate job, with a team and with all sorts of job security. Starting from scratch was scary and overwhelming, but equally as exciting. It was a fresh start, a new challenge and I wanted the whole world to be strong and confident! There were two things I knew I had to do in the very beginning. 1) Build something I believed in and that set me apart from others. That’s when Fit Whiskey Girl organically happened. A fitness brand that still has fun – cheers! 2) Figure out how to achieve my goals on a small budget, then cut that number in half. Because often it will cost twice as much and take twice as long as you think.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way are:
-Nothing is as important as your health.
-The power of social media and growth hacking.
-The client/customer is the one who truly matters.
-Consistency and frequency are your best friend.
-Take more vacations (even when you’re hustling!)

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This question made me smile because I’m “that person” my friends ask: where should we go to dinner, what’s the best hike with kids or can you recommend a good whiskey?! Denver and the state of Colorado is such a great place to live and visit with so many amazing options for food, drinks, professional sports and outdoor activities. I’m proud to be a Colorado native! Too many good options to list all of them, but here’s a one-day itinerary that won’t disappoint:
Coffee: My local neighborhood coffee shops: Torpedo Coffee and Honey Hill.
Morning walk/run: Washington Park is a beautiful spot to take a walk or run. You can feel its energy.
Indoor workout: my garage gym, of course! Or one of my friends’ gyms: Compass Fitness or Kalo Fitness.
Outdoor workout: Red Rocks! The scenery is inspiring, the stairs are challenging and sweating in the sunshine is the best!
Lunch: So many awesome spots. My favorites are Chook, Machete and Flower Child.
Massage: Who else would love a professional massage every single day? Any of the talented providers at White Lotus Therapeutics would be a great choice.
Happy hour on a patio while playing ping pong: Ace Eat Serve! I love playing games, so even better if I can sip on a good bourbon while playing ping pong. Super fun!
Catch a sports game! Depending on the season, you should absolutely go cheer on one of Denver’s professional sports teams: Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rockies or Colorado Rapids.
Mountain towns: If you have a few nights, Steamboat Springs is dreamy, has a rustic feel, is down-to-earth and absolutely stunning. If you’re short on time, I love the small town of Frisco. It has a little bit of everything, is very close to Dillion Reservoir and is beautiful too!
Dinner: Oh man, So many! A few of my favorite local spots are Atelier by Radex, Mercantile and Hop Alley.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh yes. Biggest shoutout is to all of my kickass, loyal clients current, former, in-person, online and those who I haven’t even met who continue to purchase my workout programs, nutrition services and cookbook! The health and fitness industry is full of great choices. Thank you for choosing me! Your support is truly appreciated!
