Meet Andrew Buckendorf (BUCK) | Artist & Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Buckendorf (BUCK) and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrew, why did you pursue a creative career?
Art is a direct way of expressing who you are as a person, so it’s an extremely intimate way to introduce people to who you are as well as to learn who you are yourself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and I gather a ton of inspiration from my home. Whether I am writing and producing a new song, walking around with my camera, or sitting at my desk working on a piece of fine art; I try to harness my love of nature and its complexity and beauty in to my works. As for my brand, BUCK (Be Ü Create Kindness), I want to spread as much kindness and authenticity through art as humanly possible. I want to show people that art in any form can be extremely healing to oneself and to society.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Denver is a great city for adventure and nature enthusiasts who want to be close to nature but still have a city-centric life. I love taking walks along the Platte river and strolling through downtown with my camera. Being from Alaska, I will always be partial to the nature and being out alone in the wilderness though, so I try to get out in to the mountains as much as time allows. I also played baseball my whole life, so the Rockies stadium has been a fun place to hang out, watch a game, and eat some overpriced ballpark food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Some of the people that have had the most influence on my life have been my teachers. All the way from elementary school, through middle school and high school, and now in college at CU Denver; my teachers are a massive source of both knowledge and inspiration.
