We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris (WYSE) Ellis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris (WYSE), what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It started when i was living in a hotel with pretty much no where to go. The initial thought was to own something. As kids to adults its the same system we all see, Go To school , do your work, graduate , get a job, and work for the next 50 years of your life for a 401k plan (if everything goes right). For me quite frankly i didn’t want to follow that same route. Everyone has something that they are passionate about ..so why not use it to monetize. Now i did go to school but it wasn’t for the safe bet of a job that i would hate. I’d rather put that energy into something i know i can benefit from. The second reason was to build an empire and financial stability for myself and future kids one day. Having something you built being carried on way past you has an effect you wouldn’t believe, also not having to ask anyone or corporation permission for my future kids to take ownership is something that is priceless. Lastly, i wanted to create an impact. Having a production company and record label gives me the opportunities to expand and connect with all types of creatives to spread the positive message i want into the world. A song, video, a speech even from a certain individual could spark a change and impact we all need.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Im a recording artist and record label owner of LikeWyse Productions LLC, With my stage name being “WYSE”, I hold myself to a high standard of being intellectual, and a artist of substance. I believe what sets me apart is my lyricism. With most artists, especially in the Hip Hop genre, there is a image portrayed that we don’t need. I talk about positivity, reflection, love, and motivation. Im really excited about my new album “Love Life & Lessons” thats coming in April. This project gives a more in-depth look into me and how i view things. I cant wait for people to hear it!!! It was a long road to becoming WYSE and still is. Im fighting everyday to stay sane and not let my mental effect things. I always remember, “its a process”, so i take one day at. a time. I want the world to know one thing that not only i represent but my brand stands for.. “Lead With Love..and the rest will follow”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely Red Rocks and The Fillmore Auditorium as far as music For Hanging out – 16TH street mall , there is always something fun to be around Eating – No other place than cheery creek, especially for some great steak, I also would take them to some hidden gems as well
