We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Delier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, what do you attribute your success to?
The Broomfield Flyers Gymnastics program was created 53 years ago to show kids the sport of gymnasts while allowing them to be kids. The space was created to teach the skills of gymnastics in hopes that the youth in our community could play and grow while possibly finding their passion for gymnastics. We allow our athletes to be kids, grow, and develop in all aspects of life. We value the importance of education, kindness, teamwork and being a multi-sport athlete. The success of the program comes from the passion for gymnastics and helping youth succeed in and out of the gym.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career with the City and County of Broomfield started 26 years ago and I have held the position of Program Manager for Athletics for past six years. Watching the Athletics department, specifically the gymnastics program grow over the years has been impressive. The majority of our gymnastics coaches have grown up in the program. Their love for the sport developed into first time jobs, high school titles, college scholarships and so much more.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of the high school gymnastics team favorite things to do is train at Red Rocks during our summer camp. They also enjoy time at Chicken N Pickl, The Picklr and Lake Boyd. Any chance to be a bit competitive or play in the water is up the alley of our gymnastics teams.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Carrie Thomas started gymnastics at the Paul Derda Recreation Center when she was five. The love and passion that she has for gymnastics radiated through her time as a participant with the Broomfield Flyers. She was able to grow and succeed through learning the skills as a five year old through success as a high school gymnast excelling in the sport, as a student, and eventually a part time coach for the younger athletes. Carrie has turned her love for gymnastics and her community into a career. She is currently a full-time athletics coordinator overseeing gymnastics. Her commitment to the City of Broomfield is to create an excellent place that implements growth, passion and camaraderie that not only exists in the gym but will carry into everyday life.
