Meet Angie White

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angie White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
While the road of an entrepreneur isn’t easy, it is one I have come to love. I have owned a number of small businesses. Everything from a resale shop in the Highlands neighborhood of NW Denver to a home service company. My ex-husband and former business partner is the one who started me along this entrepreneurial path. It is hard work and not something you get to walk away from at the end of the day. It forces you to face ALL of your own insecurities and blocks. And…it is very rewarding. You get to be creative in how you run your business and how you solve problems. You have freedom and the ability to change what isn’t working. You get to see your ideas come to life.
I started studying holistic nutrition when I was pregnant with my first child. I devoured this information, reading everything I could get my hands on. The idea that what we eat every single day matters and the fact that we have so much agency in our own health and wellness, truly resonated with me. As I was raising my two kids, I completed a Natural Foods Chef certification and a Nutrition Therapist Master certification at The Nutrition Therapy Institute. I used what I learned to improve my own health and that of my friends and family. I used what I learned with my kids every single day. When we sold our home service business, the next steps were clear and I opened Angie White Nutrition. I felt ready to start a business, doing work I love, helping busy people improve their own health and wellness with simple, personalized strategies.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love that I get to help people feel better in their bodies and more confident in their lives! My holistic health coaching program helps people build a simple yet profound foundation of wellness that gives them the tools and understanding to improve their health now, and for the rest of their lives. We use food and lifestyle strategies to accomplish their individual goals. We take an effective, personalized, root cause approach.
Food can be complicated. I grew up with those closest to me struggling with their weight and self esteem. I have struggled myself with excess weight and other health issues at different times in my life. Unpacking what we eat and why, our beliefs about food (good vs bad), and our habits and patterns of eating are all integral to learning how to truly nourish ourselves and those we love. Identifying habits and ways of being that are no longer serving us is important. The work isn’t easy but it is necessary. My hope for everyone is that they learn to shut out all the noise around food and learn to listen to what THEY need in order to be healthy and whole. It is a truly delicious way to live!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To be honest, I am a bit of a homebody. I love spending time and sharing a meal at home with friends and family. When I do venture out, the Farmers Market on South Pearl St. and Quiero Arepas are a couple of my favorite spots. Walking around Wash Park with a coffee from Devil’s Food is a treat. Red Rocks…of course. I saw a movie there with my daughter this Summer and was reminded how amazing this venue is. I went to school in Boulder and love hiking at Chautauqua. Spending time on Pearl Street, visiting The Boulder Bookstore and Rebecca’s Apothecary, is definitely an afternoon well spent.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize my two kids. I am stronger and more compassionate because of them. Over the last 18 years, I have been pushed and challenged and have seen what I am capable of. I have also discovered a depth of love I didn’t know existed. Their encouragement and support has meant everything. They are my greatest teachers.
