We had the good fortune of connecting with Angie Wickersham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angie, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
Trevor was born in Chicago and grew up in the middle of Kansas. He loved sports and being active outside. He knew he wanted to do be in CO so when the time came for college, it was clear he would come out here. He planned to play baseball at (then) Mesa State), but a series of injuries lead him to find other amazing Western Colorado activities like dirt biking and snowboarding. He spent most of his early career in sales but found a love in creating new business and opportunity. Angie was born and raised in Montana, coming to Colorado for college. She immediately LOVED to climate and constant sun. She completed an undergrad in counseling psychology and started her career in child welfare, specifically supporting adolescents and their families. Through a number of years, she found herself supporting adults with brain injuries in her day job, but she always knew there was more to her community connection.
In 2021 Trevor & Angie opened Mountain Berry Bowls, a food truck serving acai smoothie bowl. Seems like an unlikely pairing, but the truth is that our commitment to community, connection, and opportunity is such a perfect pair.

What should our readers know about your business?
Mountain Berry Bowls is based in Montana, were Angie grew up. Finding a business that is solid and based in community is SO key to who we are and what we believe. While we appreciate all the founding company gives us (the base of all business – like how to do what we do), we feel so blessed to connect with a model that believes in being community based. There is only one thing more fun than being at our daily location seeing daily customers and that is being at an event and participating in the community. Angie & Trevor “grew up” (okay, we went to college here, but we have both been here longer than where we grew up) and we look for opportunities to be part of of this amazing place.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is so fun! We just had family in town (in July) and we did so many fun things! …It’s good to note that July in Western CO can be super hot 😉
We took in a GJ Jackelopes game. We had an awesome afternoon at Imondi Water Park. We had breakfast at Mountain Berry Bowls and golfed at Adobe Golf Course. We jumped at Get Air and got Pedicures. We almost escaped at Escape Room and had ice cream at Enstrom’s Toffee.
This doesn’t account for the drive over the Colorado National Monument or the multiple hikes we took at Opal Hill in Fruita and James Robb National Park.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
oh man – that is the key, right?!? In 2020 when we were looking for the next step, we just knew there was more for us, our family, and our community. We evaluated a couple options in Trevor’s profession of real estate, but one day I was in insta and saw the “ever loved” Mountain Berry Bowls. There was a grorg bowl and I commented about how beautiful it was and that they should come to Western CO. The owner sent a message back that we should consider opening another location here. At first we laughed. Then we talked it through and took the first step. And the second. And the third. Every step we took, we just felt like we were supposed to move forward and everything fell into place. Was there a book? Sure. Was there a person? Sure. Was there a prayer? Sure. Sometimes, you just know you are supposed to do the next thing. That’s our experience.
We are SO blessed by our education and experience in social human services and business because it takes all of that to get us here to today.
