We had the good fortune of connecting with Annie Cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Annie, what do you attribute your success to?
To never quit and to focus. Weeks go by SO quickly, and it’s always hard to notice change each week. Well, for me at least. Sometimes I feel like I’m not getting anywhere, and then I look back 3 months and realize that an insane amount of progress has been made. And, sometimes it’s not always the progress you wanted. Sometimes it is failing and learning from it to realize that over the course of time, you’re crossing off all of the things that didn’t work to get you to the thing that will.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a personal trainer both online and in person called ‘Tuneintofitness’. What sets my business apart is keeping fitness fun and always mixing it up. One thing that I like to tell people is that there are a million ways to workout. You can strength train, run, bike, do pilates, play basketball, etc. You do not have to pick one thing, but it’s being consistent with moving your body and being active that will allow for change to come. Also, you can always do more than you think you can. You brain will stop you a thousand times before your body does. Keep going.

The lessons I’ve learned create my business model. I spent years going to the extreme, thinking that I had to workout and eat a certain way, and this is what stopped me from achieving my goals and made me hate it. I always encourage others to listen to their body, and to do what they love doing without it being forced.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love going to red rocks to workout! It’s such a beautiful place. To Denver to have a nice brunch afterwards. Garden of the Gods I thought was really fun and cool to see, and then a home cooked dinner with an outdoor concert in the evening!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
MY PARENTS! 100% them.
