We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Cobb and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anthony, how does your business help the community?
After over 24 years in the automotive service and repair industry there is a true anxiety that comes up when dealing with the service and repair of our personal cars. I have made it my personal goal to do whatever is necessary to ease these feelings. So often this industry has a stigma of rip off artists and unethical dealings. I have found many ways to empower my clients with knowledge and transparency into this world. The fear of the unknown, With each of my clients we walk them through the repair and service process to they can understand the steps and why we are performing the work needed. The anxiety of unfamiliar processes and procedures. I have found so many clients never try a new place because they have do not know what to expect. Where do I go, who do I talk to, What gonna happen, are they gonna call me do I have to call them, Are they gonna just do the work and I’m stuck with a bill……. We have created an intake process that starts online as well as the with each phone call giving the individual a confidence of where to park, what door to go into, what the customer are looks like, who they will be talking to and the process of how we will proceed with diagnostics, service work and repairs. With each step updating our customers with the form of communication that they have requested. We provide pictures and videos of findings. We also encourage clients to stop in and meet their technician and get a tour of what and why we are recommending the work that we are doing. When a customer takes their car and leaves, they get home and usually share what was done with a family member wife or husband and the questions of why and they did what comes up. After each car leaves we follow up to make sure they are happy and have no other concerns. We are happy to talk to the husbands, dads and the friend that used to be a mechanic to ease the customers mind that they made an informed decision. We want our clients to feel empowered that they received what they needed and gathered mor information that helps them make later decisions. With our process we feel it make an impact on our community as well as our industry.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the owner of COBB Auto works. We are here to serve the community of Colorado Springs from our strategic location, offering top-tier automotive solutions that emphasize quality, honesty, and customer peace of mind. At COBB Auto Works, we are a locally owned automotive repair shop that pulls back the curtains of fear by empowering our clients with the knowledge and transparency of automotive repairs and service. I left my career of 24 years in the dealership world to make a change in this industry. After much research I was able to purchase a local auto service and repair facility located off Austin Bluffs and Academy that was started over 24 years ago by two friends. They have created a great name for them selves as well as a great following. My goal is to take the foundation they have laid and employ my years of experience and insight to take COBB Auto works into the future of this industry. The process of business ownership, the purchase of a business can be very daunting and overwhelming. With the Help of The Thrive Network and other great resources like the The Pikes Peak SBDC, our Pikes Peak Public Library this city has so many ways to help you along your journey.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This great city has so many things to see and experience. You would have to take a morning walk through Garden of the Gods, lunch in Manitou Springs and shopping in Old Colorado City. Hike Seven Falls and go through the Cave of the Winds. Tour the many Breweries and Distilleries. See the new Olympic Museum and what a soccer match or concert at the new Stadium.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe so much to The Thrive Networks. This organization has empowered me to be able to take the dream of business ownership and make it a reality. There staff, team of volunteer speakers mentors and alumni network creates a strong foundation for my success. Definitely would like to thank Alexis Wren a fellow Thriver for this opportunity to share my story and what I do.
