We had the good fortune of connecting with Antonette Kristina Camacho and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antonette Kristina, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking a risk to pursue your dreams can be frightening at first but it’s definitely worth it!

I had to decide what I was most important to me. What my goals were for myself and for my family.

As a mom of two young children, I am always trying my hardest to make them proud. I want them to have a role model they can look up to. My children were the true motivation to my decision to leave my fulltime career as a Clinical Recruiter in order to pursue entrepreneurship and work on expanding our small business, Bombitas LLC.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a mother of two toddlers, our schedule fill up quickly. Between therapy and cheer practice, finding time to make a dinner that my family will actually eat and enjoy was a stressful task. I needed to find a way to make my family authentic Mexican meals, while on-the-go, something convenient!

I came up with a “bath-bomb” style but for the Crockpot! Just grab your crockpot, pour in 4 cups of water, toss in 1-4lbs of meat and DROP A BOMB!! I can leave the house for 4-8 hours and come home to dinner made, effortlessly!

Having a child who is diagnosed with ASD, I needed to take a lot of time off from work to attend weekly therapy sessions. My former employer wasn’t as understanding and I had to make the decision to leave after taking FMLA. This encouraged me to push my business idea and see where it could take me. After launching our first Bombitas recipe, Mild Birria Bombs we had orders from the mother’s in our community. Then soon we were getting orders on our website www.bombitas.co .On the first day of being unemployed, I received over 100 orders through our TikTok Shop @Bombitas.co , it truly felt like a miracle. I had pride. It was at that moment I knew I was making the right decision at choosing to stay home with my kids to help their development over working fulltime at my 9-5.

Word of mouth, is what got me where I am today. Building relationships with other parents who have similar stories. I am so honored that our product has made it across the country to parents who also have picky eaters. We are grateful to be helping so many people make Authentic Mexican meals and being able to bring our Mexican culture to their tables.

We are a Latina, Small Family Operated Business from Brighton, Colorado and we hope our story encourages other entrepreneurs to follow their dreams. We also hope to spread autism awareness and acceptance to generations to come.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Colorado is beautiful. We have so much to do. Hiking in mountains, exploring the shops and restaurants in Estes Park.

Now it’s summer and we have some of the best bizzares and food festivals! Walking the farmer markets at The Orchard Towne Center Westminster, to pick out fresh fruit, baked goods and local art.

Latino Fest at Adam’s County Fairgrounds, Chili festival, we have so many fun events in our area and they are definitely worth checking out !

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shout out to my boyfriend, our children and my family. I couldn’t do this without each and every one of them and I definitely didn’t get where I am today on my own.

From helping me with packing orders, volunteering to help with my vendor events, baby sitting my kids so I can work, and helping me even after they clocked out from their own 9-5, they give me encouragement everyday! I am so grateful for my team. Bombitas LLC is a small family owned and operated business.
