We had the good fortune of connecting with Antonio Barajas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antonio, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The way I think about risks is if you don’t take any throughout your life or in your career, you will be stuck in one place or position wondering what would have happened if you didn’t take and approach different opportunities out of your comfort zone.

I took the risk of leaving my hourly pay job without knowing if my business was going to be successful.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a Granite/Quartz countertop fabrication shop, one of the most satisfying aspects is to see happy customers that we have worked with from past years and them recognizing me and my company. I was able to get to this point by putting in a lot of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. Always being able to learn from my mistakes and improve myself and the business has helped me through my journey. Although it was not easy to get where I am today, I believe if you are willing to invest time and dedication, you can achieve whatever you set your mind to.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to the western slope to experience the snow and the beautiful mountains of Colorado. I would like to take them to some of my favorite places to eat out in downtown Denver and Parker. Being able to take my friends out to some of the local sporting events we have here in Denver, Colorado would be an experience I would enjoy as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have many people in my life that I would like to shout out that have helped me succeed, my uncle Vidal Araujo was the individual who taught me and introduced me to the granite industry. Tymothy Salazar was able to mentor/teach me the aspects of running a business. My beautiful wife Juanita Barajas that has been with me during this entire journey through all the ups and downs, and any obstacles that we have had to face.
