Meet Ashley Lawson | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Lawson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose a career in photography because it allows me to express how I see the world in a way that words often can’t capture. I’ve always been drawn to the idea of freezing a moment in time, telling a story through light, shadow, and perspective. What I love most about photography is how unique each artist’s vision can be—no two photographers will ever see or capture the same subject in exactly the same way. This individuality inspires me, and I take pride in developing my own creative voice through my lens, exploring new angles, emotions, and styles that set my work apart.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Every photographer is different. Being in many workshops with others and with the same subject, all our photos were unique.

I just gravitate to info being shared online. Any video, tips, tricks etc have helped me grow to my knowledge being my camera and editing software.

I genuinely love to create a fun, comfortable experience for my clients. From boudoir to family photos – the environment is different. But relating and making sure my clients and I are comfortable and making it a fun memorable experience. That is always my main goal each photoshoot.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
RiNo art district has some fun and interesting drink & dinner spots. Most the time when we have out of town friends come in – that’s our go to.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say my friends and family have always supported and inspired me to push myself out of my comfort zone and capture sweet moments in their lives.
