We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Colvin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rebecca, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My #1 reason for starting Boudica Marketing was because I was tired of missing out on seeing my three kids grow up. I wanted a job where I could work remotely and have more control over my work schedule and the money I made. Since I could not find the perfect job, I created it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Boudica Marketing is a high-end marketing and advertising agency that provides an edge over the competition with full-stack multi-media solutions to brand and grow businesses with more awareness.

I do everything in-house, including pr, developing marketing strategies, advertising buys, graphic and video design, copywriting, branding, and implementation. Working with me is quick, easy, and affordable.

I have over a decade of experience in the marketing and advertising industry, working in the past for two major news media companies before starting my own business.

I learn from the best, try all the new trends, and apply what I know to my business before offering it to my clients.

I also started a charity 14 years ago, and today my marketing agency sponsors the event through organization and promotion.

I call it the NoCo Clothing Swaps & The Fort Collins Kids Clothing Swap. All sizes, genders, and seasons of clothing can be donated and found.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Here are my favorite things to do around Fort Collins, Colorado:

Take a drive and go hiking up in the Poudre Canyon.

See a concert at Mishawaka.

Paddleboard and swim at Horsetooth Reservoir.

Have lunch and Margs at the Rio Grande, on the patio.

Get ice cream at the Walrus.

Check out a concert at CSU Lagoon.

Go to the food truck fest at City Park.

Get pastrami bacon burgers from Bad Daddy Burgers.

See a movie at the Drive-in.

Spend a day in Estes Park

Chase hot Air Balloons

Splash in the stream at Twin Silos Park.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I couldn’t have started Boudica Marketing without the support and encouragement of my husband, Phil, who is also self-employed and working from home. He makes beautiful artistic rustic furniture, using wood full of character, plucked from the high mountains of the Rockies, garnished with rocks and gems.

Thank you to every client who has worked with me these last six years. I genuinely appreciate you.

I also want to thank my Mom who has encouraged me along the way, for without her love and support, I would not have the energy to continue.

Special thanks to Mary Guiden, an award-winning storyteller, and Kelly Lyell, a phenomenal reporter at the Coloradoan, for mentoring me.

I also want to thank Laura Christian of AllStar Cleaning Services in Fort Collins for letting me hold free clothing swaps at her business.

Anyone can shop for free from the swap leftovers in thier storage closet m-f 9-5.

Having a space to hold swaps and store the leftovers has dramatically blessed the community.
