Meet Ashley Madronio | Portrait Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Madronio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Capturing memories for others is what makes me happy. When I take pictures of my kiddos every year I choose at least one of the same pose and put them up on the wall. By doing this I see the growth of my boys and the memories flood back to all the tickling and playfulness during each one of those sessions. This is what I want to bring to my clients every session. I want them to relive that moment when looking at their images. That is what makes me happy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Here in Colorado, and most other heavy tourist states, it is very saturated with photographers. I believe we have some of the best ones here in Colorado Springs and in Denver, with that being said, to be able to stand out in whichever field you want to specialize in is not easy.
I went through trial and error trying to figure out what brought me the most joy. Within that I have discovered I want to build the memory to be relived just by looking at an image, I want someone to radiate within their story behind the person in the image. I specialize in women empowerment of all kinds.
If your spouse builds you up like no other let me help you capture that. If you want to love your body but are afraid to do so because of whatever flaws you believe are negative, give me the chance to show you that you are truly beautiful inside and out. You are a mom and your children help you feel powerful, let’s put that image out there for you to have once your kiddos are grown and know that you did a great job.
To be honest this field is hard, but if you are willing to put in the work and believe in your art, there will be those who value you and your art. I still work hard and do what I can to showcase my work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite spots in Colorado Springs area to have a great time of course would be a few big tourist sights. Garden of the gods, the penny arcade in Manitou, Cripple Creek, Rock ledge ranch, and downtown. These locations are not only great to visit but make for some amazing back drops for images as well. Of course do not forgot The Broadmoor especially during the Christmas season, it is absolutely gorgeous. Long drives through the mountains and stops at a brewery or mom and pop shops are easily achievable here and I enjoy introducing those things to everyone I know regardless if they live here or not.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband has been my biggest fan, and encourages me to chase my dreams. He would even occasionally model for me when I have a crazy idea, and he hates having his picture taken.
