We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Power and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was driven by a passion for childcare and a strong belief in the transformative impact of quality early childhood education in a private setting by utilizing play. After years of working in various educational and care roles, I saw a unique opportunity to shape a service that aligned closely with modern parenting needs and values. I noticed a growing demand for more personalized and flexible childcare solutions that could adapt to the varying schedules and educational aspirations of families. Many parents expressed frustration with the rigid structures of traditional childcare, and I wanted to offer a more tailored approach.
Having worked in both traditional daycare settings and private nanny roles, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the spectrum of childcare needs and the importance of high-quality caregiver training. These experiences were instrumental in designing a business model focused on high standards and adaptability.
Looking forward, I’m excited to expand our services and continue innovating in ways that support both children and parents. My goal is to make quality childcare accessible to more families, helping to lay a strong foundation for our next generation.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets Nurtured Connections apart is our commitment to personalized childcare that adapts to the individual needs of each family. We use our very own 10 point rigorous vetting process that ensures only the most dedicated and nurturing caregivers join our team.
I am most proud of the community we’ve built—both of families and caregivers. It’s heartening to see the positive impact we’ve had on children’s early childcare experiences. Currently, I’m excited about our new program that will be launching soon to assist family in date night and back up care.
One key lesson I’ve learned is the importance of flexibility—not just in terms of business operations but also in adapting to the evolving needs of families and changes in the market. Another crucial insight has been the value of community feedback, which has consistently helped us improve and refine our services.
I want the world to know that our brand is more than just a business—it’s a passion for empowering supporting families in private childcare options. Every decision we make is aimed at enhancing the quality of childcare.
