We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly Cole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelly, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Deciding to work for myself was hands down the most important decision I acted on that contributed to my success. And I think it’s because it’s something I’ve wanted my entire life. A close second though is believing in and trusting my abilities to figure things out as I go through the process. And I’m not sure I would have acted on the decision to work for myself if I didn’t fully believe in my abilities to figure things out. So in reality, believing in my abilities to figure things out was probably the rocket fuel that backed my decision to work for me. Because if I didn’t have the belief, the vision wouldn’t have been as powerful in pulling me into action. And I think that’s what keeps too many people with visions and dreams of their own from taking action on them; they don’t believe in their abilities, so they never start and fully commit, because lingering in their mind is the underlying belief that they don’t have it all figured out today, so why even try today? That’s where it’s been fun, trusting in myself and believing in my abilities to figure things out, because it’s led me down a path to infinite opportunity. Because when an obstacle or roadblock appears, it becomes a checkpoint of an opportunity to learn, grown and progress.

What should our readers know about your business?
When my brother and I were kids, we were obsessed with clothes and finding the best fitting clothes, ones that would actually fit us how we wanted them to. That was as struggle, so we said one day lets create our own clothes that fits us how we want them to. 4 years ago we launched Team Blessed and have been working on perfecting that craft since. It’s probably been the greatest decision we ever made because it feels so aligned, but also the hardest because we’ve self funded the entire journey ourselves. 12 years ago I became a personal trainer while getting my degree in Health & Exercise Science at Colorado State University. I told myself one day I would work with people out of their own home gyms in their homes. 2 Years ago, COVID launched me completely independently and I now work with people all of the front range, on zoom and other states through our app. The entire journey has been a really fun and beautiful ride, but a lot of struggle preceded this ride. And I think that’s what’s made it so beautiful.

I’m most excited about the expansion of our clothing and creative through 2022. And the expansion of Team Blessed’s newest entity launched by my brother and girlfriend, Team Blessed Bartending, specializing in private cocktail events, weddings, corporate events and at home gatherings.

Our motto honestly our entire lives has been “figure it out.” And that’s exactly how both of us greet and have dealt with past challenges, with the mindset that everything can be figured out.

Some of the big lessons we learned are to stay patient and consistent and persist through resistance. Because if you can be patient and consistent, you can keep making progress. And if you persist through the resistance (which we had a lot of), you can overcome the resistance.

We want the world to know Team Blessed, The Bless Other People Brand is here. And we need your help to R.E.B.E.L; to Respect, Encourage, Bless, Enlighten and Love people more. Because it’s the little things that seem to make the biggest difference in the lives of others. And just by leaving people better than how you found them, you can be that difference maker.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d do my best to line up some mountain time and a concert at Red Rocks for them, that place is magical and a must visit. See the Flatirons in Boulder and stop through Pearl Street for lunch or dinner. The views at Avanti Boulder are unmatched, and the drinks and atmosphere are on point. Hit Japango for the best sushi in town or Jax Fish House for some seafood. Knowing my friends all love authentic Mexican food, Effrains in Boulder would be the spot to go to. If they needed a fresh cut, I’d take them to J Black Barbershop in Boulder or Fringe Hair Studio in Superior, CO. And to work prepare for all that food we eat, we’d hit a workout at our Team Blessed home gym where clients come to work on their best health.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I honestly don’t know if there is a section big enough in this magazine to fit the number of names that deserve some credit here. Because the truth is, a lot of people opened doors and a lot of people helped me see more in me than I grew up seeing in myself. You can call it luck, preparedness or just timing, but I’ve found when you prove to life how serious you are about your goals and dreams, the people and ideas will be revealed to you as needed. I have to give a shout out to books, because books have been my saving grace in life and what’s improved every aspect of my life, from business, to relationships to finance, to mental health. But I have to give a major shoutout to my parents, as I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them. My brother and I started and built a major portion of our company Team Blessed in a 9×12 bedroom in their house, so they deserve some big thanks for that. I owe a big thanks to my brother for talking me out of quitting coaching 6 years ago, I now run a successful independent practice throughout Colorado with other clients throughout the country. And a big thank you to my girlfriend my love, because she has been a major support through the process of working for myself and through the expansion of Team Blessed.
