We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Selinsky and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
When thinking of success the first word that comes to my mind is grit. Having the grit to show resilience when displaying passion and perseverance is what is going to get me to the finish line of the success I am looking for. You can’t just expect success is going to come without the hardships and the push backs. You have to give all you got to see an outcome you’ve been dreaming of.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is the passion I put into what I do, I only food blog for myself and no one else. What you see is the dedication I put in because I want to. I’m definitely not a professional, and this is only a hobby for me until it grows into something more one day. But I do see the input that I get when I do give output and engage and put time into it. The more time and effort put into it the more success and outreach I get back. It is all about how you see yourself and what you want from your work, no matter what it is, Work hard and the work will pay off.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were coming to visit the ideal trip would be: – Breakfast at a local diner (Huckleberry’s in Louisville)
– A road trip to the mountains
– Hiking or Skiing (Depending on the weather & season)
– An afternoon lunch/ some casual drinks at a local brewery/bar (The Flats Beer Garden)
Living in Colorado the past 7 months has made it very clear to me that supporting small and local businesses and just getting out into nature to mingle and enjoying the surrounds is what life is all about. The best things to check out are the local spots where you can talk to the owners and really get to meet the people around you, make friends, enjoy the culture. I love supporting the businesses of those who are passionate about what they are selling and those are the businesses I always take my friends and family to.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Growing up my parents always told me to follow my dreams and chase the stars. Whether that may be a career path or a hobby. For me, food blogging is a great hobby I enjoy and it is fun to see the success and growth that comes from something that I enjoy and am passionate about.
