We had the good fortune of connecting with Asia Stockwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Asia, is there something you believe many others might not?
That all of the guidance and answers we seek are inside of ourselves. I believe that we have this infinite well of knowledge and wisdom within our own bodies that we are taught to not listen to. We are taught that the mind is most powerful, when in fact, it is the faithful servant OF the body. Tapping into our inner knowing, our innate wisdom can lead us to a life of authenticity and inner authority that nothing outside of us can provide. Allowing space for us to make decisions that are in alignment with our values, how we want to feel, and the life we desire to create.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Maven is a collective of healers. I started out with just myself in my practice with the intention of offering massage therapy as a tool to assist others in their health and wellness journey. As my client base and experience grew, and I myself continued to receive bodywork as healing, I discovered that there is so much more to our wellness and well-BEing than just the physical. We are multi-faceted, multi-dimensional beings and we must consistently care for ALL the facets of ourselves in the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual in order to truly FEEL well.
In expanding Maven I knew I wanted it to be a collaboration of healers of all levels and stages of their own healing journey. I wanted to create a space that supports up and coming healers in their own practice of service and support to clients, as well as receiving in their own healing journey. Allowing us all to share space and costs of running a healing practice, supporting each other as well as the collective and our community.
I am most proud of all of the women who I have been blessed to work beside within Maven. Each one of them brings their own magic to the world and to the healing craft and I am honored to be able to learn and grow with them, as well as teach them. I am most excited about some upcoming collaborations we are doing with our neighboring business to offer more healing to the community!
Climbing the mountain of success is never easy, because success is not linear! It has peaks, valleys, plateaus, and tons of wild storms at times. But it also has some amazing views and connections to others if you’re looking for it! What has personally helped me to overcome challenges along this journey is to connect to my support system. Utilizing my own healers, healing tools, mentors and guides, my yoga and meditation practice to keep my nervous system strong, balanced, and healthy so that I may continue to thrive amidst adversity. This allows me to show up bigger and brighter for myself, my business, and the world!
What I feel sets Maven apart from others is that we truly want to facilitate healing. We don’t believe that any ONE person, or any ONE thing is meant to meet all of our needs. Everyone in this world has something to offer and we can learn and grow and expand more by connecting more.
With my Coaching work, my mission is to support people in connecting to that inner authority so they can create and live a life that feels good to them. A life that is in alignment with their values, and what THEY truly desire. By design vs default if you will. Discovering and connecting with your own inner Guru empowers a person to be the captain of their own ship, the star on their own stage, knowing that at any moment they have the ability to choose!
The biggest lessons thus far that I’ve learned is to not have expectations or attachment to outcomes. So often we block ourselves from receiving what is meant for us because we think we know how it should be, or how it will be. In surrendering to the Divine and trusting the process, the things that have arrived have been bigger than I ever could have imagined.
What I would like the world to know about Maven and my personal story is that it is never too late to start claiming the life you desire. To decide to change what is no longer serving you, and that it is absolutely ok to want more when things are good! We are meant to live in abundance and love and to have a deep connection to ourselves. It is only through knowing ourselves that we are able to show up as our best selves and share that with our lives and the world.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
the Big Horn mountains of course! We have world renowned climbing here in Tensleep Canyon. The Medicine Wheel is also a beautiful historical site FULL of energy. We would spend plenty of time playing on the mountain, as well as at the lake paddle boarding and kayaking. I’d take them to my favorite restaurant in town, Birch (the food and cocktails are the best!) and we would check out all the fun antique stores and other shops at our historic down town. Of course we would spend some time doing some self-care at Balanced Healing Salt and Sauna and probably try to get a tattoo somewhere!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shout outs go to my mother, my great grandparents, my instructors in education, my Reiki Master and Shamanic Healer, my clients, and my community. I also owe a lot of my success to my Higher Self and Source! I have always been connected to my Spirit, and very involved in my Spiritual Practice and without ANY of these energies of support, I would have totally allowed my monkey mind to keep me within my comfort zone, not expanding into the unknown. To all of the other healers that I utilize and learn from every time I receive their magic!
