Meet Audra Holck | Holistic Nutritionist & Autoimmune Nutrition Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Audra Holck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Audra, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Growing up, I always lived an active an healthy lifestyle, but I was diagnosed with an Autoimmune disease at 17 years old. I was told by multiple doctors that since there is no cure for an autoimmune diagnosis, I would have to live with symptoms and take different medications for the rest of my life. I began to dig into research about autoimmune disease and nutrition, and I knew there had to be more. Luckily, I found a function medicine practitioner that completely changed my life. I really learned how much control I have over my health by making nutrition changes and looking at my entire lifestyle. While I am a huge advocate for functional medicine, unfortunately, it is not financially assessable to everyone. I wanted to bridge that gap for people who need education and accountability but can’t fully commit to an entire functional medicine protocol. People need to know how much agency they have over their own health, and I want to be a resource to spread that knowledge. With that in mind, I got my certifications to become a Holistic Nutritionist and Autoimmune Nutrition Specialist. I now assist clients in nutrition for longevity, weight loss or body composition change, improving gut health, reducing autoimmune symptoms, and educating around what dietary and lifestyle changes clients can make to increase energy and overall wellness. People deserve to feel their best, but there is so much conflicting information out there in the world of wellness. We keep it simple- we build daily habits that will produce big results over time.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a Holistic Nutritionist, I take a whole-person approach to nutrition, health, and wellness. I meet people where they are in their nutrition background and journey without judgement. Food can heal, and I believe that in order for people to feel their best, they need to have the knowledge to eat the best food for their individual body and goals. We first work to build daily habits that set people up for success for the long run. My system is not a quick fix- we build sustainable habits so that clients leave feeling prepared and confident to take care of themselves and their families for the rest of their lives. In order to serve the greater community, I offer all nutrition services online. This provides an assessable and convenient approach for anyone looking to work with a nutritionist. I believe in testing, not guessing, so we look at testing to see what is really going on inside. Depending on symptoms and issues, this may be blood labs, GI mapping, toxins testing, full hormone panels, testing for food intolerance, etc. I educate on meal planning on a budget and in a time crunch and can offer meal plans and grocery lists based on preference and need. As a holistic nutritionist, there is not one set program for any client- each client will have an individualized approach after going through the intake process. Everyone deserves to feel their best, and I provide clients with the tools and the knowledge to live their healthiest, happiest, lives.
I am most proud of how many people I have had the opportunity to help so far. The testimonials and success stories continue to blow my mind. I am a teacher at heart, and the confidence that I am seeing being built in my clients is just the absolute most rewarding part of running this business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely love Colorado Springs and all that it has to offer! In my free time, you can find me out in the mountains finding any adventure that life has to offer. In the summer time, I’m hiking, rock climbing, and mountain biking. In the winter time, you can find me snowboarding. My husband and I travel all over the state in our camper van with our 3 pups. I love showing friends around the city and surrounding area!
We might start out the day by getting in good workout at Crossfit Soco to get our bodies moving.
Then we could hit up Building Three or Story Coffee (my two absolute favorite coffee shops in town)
We could head out on a Mountain Bike ride in North Cheyenne Canyon or Ute Valley Park
or
A hike up on some of my favorite trails in Woodland Park or Divide (The Crags trail is just the best)
I’m big on packing my own adventure lunches, so we could stop by Ranch Foods Direct or Garden of the Gods Market and Cafe for some delicious local foods.
Dinner might be at one of my favorite local spots “Four; By Brother Luck” Their menu is inspired by the four main providers who supply their ingredients- the hunter, gatherer, fisherman, and the farmer
We might finish the night at Ivywild School- one of the first schools in Colorado Springs that is now converted into bars, restaurants, and shops. I love going to the principal’s office or Axe and Oak distillery for a drink and some good conversation (they have great mocktails as well!)

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shout out Upstream Functional Medicine in Colorado Springs. Without them, I would still be struggling with so many autoimmune symptoms and would not have realized the agency and control I have over my own health. They looked at me as a whole person, not just a diagnosis. Jeff and Johnny knew that my top priority was feeling good enough to live the adventurous life that is so dear to me. Upstream provided education, support, and constant encouragement, and I cannot thank them enough for leading me back to health. Working with them inspired me to create a business of my own, and help as many people as I can, just like they did for me.
