We had the good fortune of connecting with Awo Prosatega and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Awo, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from Bandung’s suburbs, exactly in Majalaya village. Both name are in very suck system of nation, social gap, corruption, and the obvious authoritarian rules. That country named Indonesia. My education is only high school, standar performance in lesson value, never had a chance to go to college, because i never wanted to..

But regardless of my formal education, i actually gained my way to deal with my life while i am at a bunch of my friends in the streets…

how to fix yourself, how to compromise with my dreams whose getting wilder day by day, how to spit all those sucks systems, and indirectly all these things creates my mindset, and creates an imagination and characters in my sketch, illustrations, artwork or whatever they are.

My passion for art, especially pictures and music which makes me try to make a living from drawing artwork for an album covers, or band merchandise.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Specifically my artwork is for bands, whether it is for album covers, merchandise, flyers, posters, or anything related. But some people use it for brands, private, or even for community.

-All creative processes in drawing did traditionally, with ink on paper,
and i only made black and white articles.

– What makes the difference between mine and others is perhaps its concept or sort of thing. I can’t think that mine is better or worse than the other, each head can be made into a different picture with the same idea.

– What i like the most is turning a hobby into work, and surely making some money, being able to make a cooperation with all bands across the world.

– Keep focus and train myself.

– Wow, not as easy as turning the palm of the hands, intricate and tough competition.

– be optimistic, never satisfied, and don’t ever think you’ve already been a success.

– Start to maximise time for working.

– Responsible for my choices.

– Keep trying to develop ideas and concepts.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have no favourite places in the city, it’s too noisy and polluted. i prefer mountains and beaches.

I don’t have any plans to go somewhere soon, but if i have to, maybe I’ll go to one of the places, though just to relax and have some tea, or play with my boys and my wife.

so because that reason, i can’t give any advice about my favourite place to be visited….
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes. a lot of things influence me to this point. Especially by The Almighty God’s permission, my parent’s prayers, and of course support from my beloved wife who is always patient and understands my work. a couple of my best friends were always there to lend a hand, give some advice, and encourage each other. And no less important is support from my friend named Agam Fajar Johansyah, thanks to him i am able to describe what i don’t understand, and i can write this interview, and also give me a lot of meaning in dealing with and fixing this unwell life..maneh edan euy ( you’re kicking ass) keep inspiring dude !!!
