We had the good fortune of connecting with Bailey Roberts and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bailey, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Being in the beauty industry and opening a salon has taught me a lot about patience. There will be many learning curves and life lessons and most of the time they are thrown at you all at once. Taking the time to be patient with not only others but yourself will help your growing pains be more graceful.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a Stylist behind the chair and Salon Owner I can honestly say my career has evolved in to something I can be truly proud of. The path to get here was not easy and a lot of hours were spent on educating myself. Then re-educating. Rinse and repeat, over and over . I love to learn and finding a career that I am passionate about on both the mentoring and educational side really keeps me wanting to be better. As a hairstylist our industry changes so rapidly and it is our job to maintain our knowledge. Any time I’ve ever felt stagnant in the last 11 years it’s always been because a lack of new knowledge. With so many techniques , new products and companies out there , educating yourself is the only way to keep up.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love all of the new places that are popping up! There are some great spots on Broadway that are musts. Postinos is one of my favorite wine date spots! Perfect for a girls lunch. Terra Apothecary is another fun Broadway stop. It has a ton of great herbal blends , skin care and candles. Morrison is also another fun stop for walking around all the local shops and great family owned restaurants. I can’t wait for shows to be back at Red Rocks !
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My business partners, Lauren Tracy and Lacey Smith, deserve a huge shout out! With out the hard work of both of these women our salon would not be the same. I’m proud to say their focus on growth and creating a fun environment for our team has really set the bar for 2021!
