We had the good fortune of connecting with Barbara Pennell Jaynes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Barbara, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Starting my own business has taught me to always remember my days as a novice and all of the amazing people that helped me to launch Positively-Funded. This has taught me to be a “Go Giver” to other entrepreneurs and to lead from a place of abundance.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My company Positively-Funded is like no other consulting firm. My process is to begin by truly listening to my clients needs and usually frustrations. From this I work with them to create a custom strategic business development plan. What comes next is what sets me apart from other consultants. This is when I implement the plan with my client and get the hard work done. For me strategic business development should not be one more thing to cause you anxiety and keep you farther from reaching your growth goals. That is why I do the work for you and with you. Teaching you my techniques of success through out the process. The stress free approach that I take with every project is rewarding to my clients. The proof is in the positive outcomes for my customers. And why so many of them return again and again with new ambitions.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well you obviously can’t visit Boulder without hiking the Flatirons. After the hike it would be off to the Pearl Street Walking Mall. We would have an amazing meal and enjoy the street artists. The next two days would be in Rocky Mountain Park for more hiking and wildlife watching. We would also make it across Trail Ridge Road to Grand Lake for a meal. The next day back through the park and to Este Park to eat at Jim & Byrd. And of course we would tour the historic Stanley Hotel.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is a really tough question, I have been blessed with so many amazing powerhouse women. Karen Brown and Mandy Rigg really pushed me our of the nest to go out on my own and start Positively-Funded. We worked on a project together for the YMCA Boulder Valley. Through out this project they recognized my talents and gave me the courage to run with my passion.
