We had the good fortune of connecting with Becca Spiro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Becca, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Build your foundation with people you respect and trust. Take the time to find a good lawyer, accountant, marketing team (if applicable) and other necessary independent contractors. Ask other small business owners for recommendations. It might take a while to find the right people, but it will save time in the long run.
What should our readers know about your business?
The Frosted Flamingo is a mobile art studio. Our project menu features projects for all ages, and projects rotate seasonally. We host birthday and bachelorette parties, craft tables at farmers markets, online events, and much more! I started the Frosted Flamingo because I believe that art should be a shared experience, just like a delicious meal or an exciting vacation. I wanted to bring joy and empowerment to people through creativity and artistic creation. I love providing children and adults with a rare hands-on experience—an opportunity to tap into your inner artist and make something that is uniquely yours.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you’re here in the summer, rent a mountain bike. Breckenridge has more trails than most places in the country! If you are here in the winter, I love to ski at Arapahoe Basin. Amazing Grace is my favorite restaurant. Literally everything on the menu is good, but you can’t go wrong with their breakfast burrito. Mountain Outfitters has all of the outdoor gear you’ll ever need and the owners are wonderful. Magical Scraps has the best gifts and Broken Compass Brewery has excellent ginger beer.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to acknowledge my friend and neighbor Terrin Frey. She has been a rock for me over the past 2 years, through pregnancy, a pandemic, and postpartum.
