We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Dziwulski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ben, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Without a doubt, the #1 factor that contributed to my company’s success is my team! I’ve hired an incredible team that is talented, passionate, and highly skilled at what they do.

Since WODprep exists online, I’m able to hire great people from all around the world. While most companies are limited to the local talent pool, I’ve had the pleasure of hiring people from 8 different countries.

We still get to see each other in person once per year at my annual team retreat, and I really think that helps us stay close.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started my online business out of necessity. I was married to someone in the US Navy, and we got stationed in Japan for 3.5 years. I had to sell my gym before moving out there, and I really didn’t know what I was going to do for work.

Since I knew that finding a job in Japan would have been hard, I decided to try to start an online fitness business.

While my (ex)wife was deployed, I would work 16 hour days just grinding away at this little business idea, seeing what worked and what didn’t.

By the time we left Japan, the business had grown to over $250,000/yr in revenue and I had multiple employees.

I’m really proud of the countless hours I put in while still making $0. I feel like a lot of people would have given up in that first year. But I had a clear vision of what I wanted to create, and I kept working until I made it happen.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
1. Eat – Denver Biscuit Company (make sure to get the cinnamon roll)

2. Drink – New Terrain Brewing (after a mountain bike ride on North Table Mountain)

3. Visit – If it was ski season, we’d do a backcountry snowboarding trip to Berthoud Pass, or maybe catch a powder day at Winter Park or Vail.

4. Fun – if it’s concert season, there’s a 100% chance I’d take them to Red Rocks for a concert. EDM, Country, Hip Hop…. you name it – it will be a fun time!

5. Play – Pickleball. Can’t get enough of pickleball, and Denver has some great courts!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Way back in 2015 I joined a “mastermind” group called the Dynamite Circle. It’s a business group for online entrepreneurs. When I joined, I was hardly making $1,000 per month.

After attending a few conferences, filling up notebooks with ideas, and hanging out with other people in the group, I began to see what was possible in the world of online business.

Now, seven years later, I’ve been invited to speak at their events multiple times, and my business is making over $3,000/day.

Learning from other like-minded entrepreneurs was absolutely essential in my business and personal development.
