Meet Big M@k | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Big M@k and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Big, what do you want your legacy to be?
How would I want my legacy to be? I would describe it to be unstoppable. I would want a Tupac, a J. Cole, a Dre and shady legacy. There is to much to explain on what goes on behind the scenes of coming up with each and every track, campaign, and album, but most importantly I feel like you need to tell a story in what you’re putting down. Not just each track but with each project, visual, recording session, etc. If you don’t go through all the things that you speak about in our music then whose story are you really telling? I really appreciate each and every person who’s felt something off of each song I’ve released it really shows that most of us have lived the same life, just have to take a step back and put on the other shoes for a while.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’d like to think that what sets me apart from other artists is my ability to adapt to any and all artistry that comes my way, allowing the opportunity to collaborate with a whole network of individuals who normally wouldn’t take a foot into our scene. It wasn’t easy to get where I am. There’s definitely a lot of trials and I definitely haven’t “made it” yet but I’m in the process. I’m also not someone who has to fake it either. Everything I put in my music is exactly what I’m about, I’m a nice guy now, but don’t test how far that’ll go! One thing that I’ve learned through the trials in the process is that you are your biggest enemy, but you can also be your biggest support, it’s all about the way you look at things. Perspective is key, and maybe the situation ain’t always out to get you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Man what are we not gonna do! There are so many options being in Colorado man, I grew up here so a lot of the places I know are hidden gems and I don’t think I’m willing to give them up but best believe you visit for a week with us! It’s 4 wheelers, gun smoke, dab smoke, on fast mode! We’re going crazy! All my people know who the party starter is!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The first I need to shoutout is the 4 biggest supporters I have, and that’s my two babies (Aryselma & Dominic) my momma! (Dolly Landin) & my beautiful wife Christine Sandoval! Without you guys, I wouldn’t be who I am and that’s real! I love you guys! I couldn’t imagine where’d I’d be without you! And of course my fans! You guys are amazing, and I see the growth year by year, and we’re not stopping anytime soon! I love you guys too! #StayInky
