We had the good fortune of connecting with Bradley Weaver and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bradley, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I once read that the day a hobby becomes a business is the day you decide to involve other people. For most musicians, like it or not, that is the day they decide their music is worth sharing.

For a long time, I struggled with charging for my art and felt guilty for doing so, but the day I recognized that I was providing a service and deserved to be paid for that service, was a very important day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been a working musician for over 25 years. I’ve had songs featured on CMT, PBS, and the History Channel as well as on local and regional commercials. I’ve performed solo, fronted several bands, and spent 7 years touring the country as the lap steel player for the outlaw country band ‘Ryan Chrys and the Rough Cuts.’

Recently, my focus has been on performing family friendly music and teaching others to do the same.

With 2 small children at home, my time for performing live, as well as teaching, is very limited. As a response, I have developed an online course to help parents learn guitar and in turn, teach their children to do the same!

Also, I have recently launched my ‘Ukulele Club.’ It is a monthly membership where individuals and families can learn the ukulele and grow along with a community of like-minded and positive players!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are lucky enough to live on the Platte River bike trail, so I would say begin by borrowing or renting a bike and exploring Denver through it’s incredible network of bike trails.

One stop I would certainly recommend is the Table Public House on South Platte Drive. It is a coffee shop/bar with great food and the ultimate children’s play area.

To feed your mind, I would recommend The Bookies Bookstore and the Museum of Nature and Science.

Wherever you are in Denver, start walking and you’re going to run into a great local restaurant or craft brewery. We’ve found that the best way to learn about any city is to just start walking!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife Sami Jo Lien deserves so much credit for the success I’ve seen. From putting up with weeks on the road to handling booking, PR, and so much on the business side that artists like my self can never quite seem to grasp, she is amazing and I could not do it without her!
