We had the good fortune of connecting with Brady Granquist and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brady, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
You have to risk security for freedom. A lot of people aren’t willing to use their time and money without a guaranteed result at the end. Although I believe, if you don’t risk time and money, you won’t achieve your goals to the true level and speed you desire. Of the two, I prefer to use money to speed up time, you must take the risk and invest in your ideas.
I completed one semester of college and joined a Network Marketing company. Many called it a scam. They said I would never make money. Turns out they were wrong, I did make money! I used the money I made to launch and follow my own dreams. Sometime taking a big risk means over extending and putting yourself in a hard place. But, that’s where you find what you are capable of. It’s as simple as, if you want things to change in your life, you must change things in your life.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am the founder of Light House Mushrooms. I launched this business last year and have gone through a lot of learning and trials and errors. I am preparing to launch our website and get into farmers markets in the next year. This business thrives off the connections I made from prior endeavors. I think that’s a huge key when starting a business, use your connections, or network and make some. My desire to start LHM was when I learned the power of mushrooms and how they can increase the health in our own bodies and in our environment. Mushrooms have been used for thousands of years to heal and improve lives. My biggest goal is to teach people about mushrooms and get more fungi in our diets.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First we are going snowboarding out in the mountains, all the mountains are amazing choose one. Then, catch a avalanche game at ball arena. I love all the taco trucks around, but we are going to hit the yardhouse and get a delicious beer from their massive selection of beer!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Quantum Creations and IM family, they taught me about life, taking risks, and showed me how to believe in myself. Without that crucial life experience at a young age I never would have had the belief in myself to create something amazing. Shoutout to my brother, and beautiful girlfriend who have supported throughout my entire journey. Those around you are key to your success, make sure to keep the right ones.
