We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandi Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandi, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Real estate is a daily grind. Many people look in from the outside and see fancy cars, lavish vacations, and big paychecks but don’t see what happens in the middle of the night when the best agents are still working. The business can be brutal on brokers that aren’t prepared for the bad and ugly. When I think about what has helped me not get chewed up and spit out like so many of my peers one interaction comes to mind, several years ago former VP once told me “You’ve got some serious GRIT”. At first, I hated her compliment but now I’m proud of it because I know my success thus far has come from having some “serious GRIT”! It drives me to always go that extra mile, it’s the fuel for my relentless passion, and the reason why I never give up.
What should our readers know about your business?
Two of my first clients both called me “The Real Estate Shark” after working with me. Neither knew each other, and still don’t to this day yet they both nicknamed me the same thing. As cheesy as that nickname sounds, it does perfectly describe how I serve my clients. For readers, know that stuffy, frustrating, and confusing real estate experience you envision when you think about buying/selling your home is a thing of the past. My focus is “easy-button” experiences while fighting for my client’s best interest.
Going higher level in terms of the industry as a whole I think readers should know that no matter where you live before hiring an agent, it’s imperative that you aggressively interview them. Even if you’ve used the agent in the past! The wrong agent in this market will save or cost you thousands of dollars. All brokers specialize in different services and areas take the time to make sure your agent is qualified and competent for your needs.
Digging a little deeper for readers to know me- I’m a Colorado native born and raised in Northern Colorado. I’ve also lived in Summit County, Adams County, Arapahoe County, and now live in Douglas County. That first-hand experience in those markets has helped me serve diverse needs up and down the front range. Outside of Real Estate, I’m a mom to my daughter who is eleven, I ride motorcycles, love lake days, volunteer at least once a week, and play Volleyball on a local rec team. As cool as all of that makes me sound, I’m pretty boring!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1 & 2- We are starting off in my hometown, Greeley, Colorado because you can’t come to Colorado without experiencing the “smell of money” right?! If you leave Greeley without visiting local hotspot, Roma’s, for the most amazing pizza and Bazookas, you aren’t doing it right… in my professional opinion. Ha-ha! While in the area we are going to the best motorcycle technique school the nation has to offer, American Supercamp. Two full days of riding in the mud with the best riders out there. On a side note if you haven’t checked out American Supercamp and you like to ride, any style, check it out! I guarantee it will be the most fun you’ve had on two wheels in years.
Day 3- We are headed up to Estes Park to stay overnight in the Stanley Hotel. Enjoying the breathtaking scenery while fishing in the morning/afternoon, we will later walk around town to taste amazing homemade saltwater taffy, and indulge on the most amazing old time burgers from Penelope’s. We might even be lucky enough to witness a “traffic jam”. If you aren’t familiar with what a “traffic jam” looks like in Estes Park- it’s a herd of Elk crossing busy roads without a care in the world for the cars trying to pass.
Day 4- This next stop is mandatory, regardless of what my best friend says- we are headed to Casa Bonita! How can you visit Colorado and not eat the legendary food Casa Bonita has to offer? All the Colorado natives are shaking their heads in agreement with me right now as they read this, I promise. After visiting Downtown Denver and 16th street mall for the day we will grab dinner at my favorite sushi restaurant in the entire state, Sushi Den.
Day 5- Headed up to Morrison for a concert at Red Rocks, any concert will do! If you know you know, right?!
Day 6- We are headed west up I-70 for a quick visit to see all Summit County has to offer. Lake Dillon, Mainstreet in Breckenridge, Frisco, and shopping in Silverthorne.
Day 7- On our final day, somehow, we are going to have the energy to drink some adult beverages while enjoying an amazing boating day on Lake Pueblo. After some wakesurfing, kneeboarding, tubing, and napping in the sun we will grab some famous Pueblo Green Chili and send my best friend back home so I can recover from this epic, exhausting 7-day tour of Colorado!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to dedicate this shoutout to my family for inspiring me, pushing me, supporting me, and always being my biggest fans. I have an amazing support system that has allowed for me to chase my dreams. I don’t know where I would be without them. Love y’all!
I also want to thank everyone at my brokerage, Madison & Company, for creating a uniquely collaborative culture, for believing in me, and for holding each other to the highest possible standards. We push each other to be the best in the industry; for ourselves, our clients, our partners, and our industry. I would not be the broker I am today without everyone at Madison.
Finally, I have to thank all my amazing partners for always going the extra mile for my clients and for their never-ending support. It’s truly a team effort to create amazing experiences for buyers and sellers, I’m very lucky to have partners that refuse to compromise on high-quality experiences.
