Meet Brian Yodice | Chiropractor and Owner of Sportiv Chiropractic

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Yodice and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brian, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think risk taking is a necessary component of learning, growth and development. As we are presented with challenges, we will never truly understand or extend our limits, unless we take risks and step outside our comfort zone.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My current practice, Sportiv Chiropractic has just past its first year anniversary but, has been a work in progress and developing throughout my 25 year career as a Chiropractor and business owner. I also bring 45 years of experience as an athlete and 25 years of coaching experience to the practice. It has definitely not been an easy road and my career has taken many different forms. Starting out as an independent contractor in a multi-disciplinary practice, working along side other Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Acupuncturists and Massage Therapists, I learned the value of collaboration, started to develop my practice vision and learned what business ownership really looks like. Without any business experience and the challenge of finding the right mentors, there were definitely ups, downs, lessons to be learned and struggles to overcome. Transitioning into a partnership and diving into the purchase of a practice taught me a lot about the different visions, values and expectations of providers and business owners. Starting and restarting, building and developing new business models and practices over the years taught me resilience. There are no failures but, opportunities to learn grow and develop.
After 20+ years of practice ownership in New York, I decided to take a risk, move to Colorado in 2022 and take a position as the Clinic Director of a practice in Lakewood. This was a lifestyle decision and opportunity to move away from a career driven culture, that I found was not providing the lifestyle I truly strived for. My experience as an employee, in a large group practice taught me a lot about developing a strong practice/business culture. Sportiv Chiropractic fosters a customer service oriented, patient and employee centered culture of learning, team work, integrity, accountability, vitality, innovation and fitness.
Sportive Chiropractic identifies itself through innovation and redefining the athlete as the active individual. Our vision is to influence healthy active lifestyles through our mission of being the guide. Our patients tell us where they want to go, some will blaze their own trail and we can support from behind, others we simply give direction and we hold the hand of those that need it. We are a guide on their journey to better physical health and performance, through optimal functionality.
The biggest lesson I have learned is my practice needs to support me and my team with financial as well as lifestyle benefits. Without a financially viable and resilient business we do not have the resources to provide the care and guidance to our patients, educate the community in their pursuit of better health or support us in the healthy and abundant lifestyles we desire, allowing us the energy and capacity to be fully attentive and supportive to our patients.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Denver and the surrounding Colorado area have so much to offer in arts, sports, culture, culinary experience and active lifestyle adventure. I would definitely find time to experience an event of one of our local sports teams, a concert at Red Rocks, show at Meow Wolf, walk through the art district, especially during a 1st Friday, Union Station provides an experience itself, access to great local restaurants and bars and transportation to various events and experiences throughout the city. Transportation is also available to the mountains, local reservoirs, along I-70 to various ski resorts and outdoor experiences like hiking, cycling, swimming, boating and paddle boarding

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize my father, Buddy Yodice, for his love, support and encouragement. He is the reason I was introduced to Chiroprcatic at a young age and has been an essential influence in all my endevours.
