We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Cason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite affirmation is, “I open my heart to promising opportunities that bring me joy and growth.” To me, this is a way to practice mindfulness. I am allowing positive energy to flow through every part of my life, both personally and professionally. As an entrepreneur, I use this affirmation to set goals for what and where I want my business to be. Positivity is contagious, so as long as I am putting that into the universe, in some way or form, it will be returned back in to me.

What should our readers know about your business?
Beycael Beauty LLC was created after finding that locals in Colorado greatly benefited from my products. I am currently active duty military and I have only been living in Colorado for 3 years. Once I moved to Colorado, I noticed how dry my skin became and how the texture has changed. Since the store bought brands were not working, this challenged me to create my own products that were nourishing to my skin. My creation was then shared in the workplace, then as time went by, a greater demand was presented. At that time, I went to the drawing board and created different formulas to help those who struggled with skin ailments such as dry skin, eczema, hyperpigmentation and stretchmarks. What sets my business apart from others are the ingredients I use. As a vegan, I carefully the things that I both put in and on my body. I focus on purchasing ingredients from quality suppliers and keeping my ingredient list to under 10 and 15 max for the most complicated formulation if I reach that much. The process was not easy. I had to do a lot of research on the products that I want to make and the current market. With this being a heavily saturated industry, I took a risk in starting this business. My brand aspires to help those who struggle with skin conditions. Not only that, these products help boosts confidence in everyone who uses them.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was to visit me in Colorado for a week, there are quite a few adventurous things we would do. In Colorado Springs, I would take her to The Incline in Manitou Springs and we would take a tour through Garden of the Gods. Next on the list, is the newly opened Meow Wolf in Denver. With no hesitation we would eat at Denver Biscuit Company for breakfast and spend some time at one of the museums. As the time goes by, we would take a trip to Glenwood Springs and spend the day at the hot springs. Last, we would take a ride on the Royal Gorge train dining with their on board restaurant. If there is more time, walk around downtown Denver and find all of the best foodie restaurants.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to take the time and dedicate my shoutout to my father. Not only is he my best friend, but he is also my biggest supporter. As a creator, handmaking every product is time consuming for one person. While preparing to stock my website, my father, who lives across the country, took a flight out to Colorado and helped me prepare my inventory. He is the definition of an advocate. As a mail carrier for USPS, he purchased EDDMs (Every Door Direct Mail) to send out to specific routes in hopes to help me gain new customers. Efforts like these were done with no hesitation and I value the support, mentorship, love and encouragement he has been continuously giving me. So this shoutout goes to my father, Lewis J. Cason Jr.
