We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Montanye and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittany, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Maslow Tarot is primarily an outreach project on Social Media in order to provide access for individuals seeking guidance and who are on a path of self growth. I also conduct private readings for individuals one-on-one via Zoom where I hold space we gaining insight from the Tarot and our guides in general or a specific interest. These virtual sessions and collective general posts on social media provide an outlet to unpack trauma, addiction and relationship challenges, etc.. While not a Doctor, I utilize my psychology degree, life experience and passion in my interpretation of the cards and delivery of messages. In times like this, where finances and stability are uncertain, politics and government are tense, and isolation from the pandemic making people also slow down, people need connection more than anything. I make sure I don’t charge an arm and a leg, and make myself available for those who need it, yet may not necessarily be able to afford it. I am a part of a collective network of readers and we collaborate often on social media to build strengths and discuss ideas for growth and what is going on for our collective. Maslow Tarot is from the self growth and know thyself perspective, where our individual experience is meant to become more aware of our individual truth and healing, in-order to heal the collective as a whole and thus, creating a more aware and healed society.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Commitment to purpose. Tarot is not necessarily just picking up a deck and learning the meaning of the cards. It is a journey through the self and consciousness with constant awareness of self and who we are, what we are, and what we do. It is an application, and it becomes you, you become it. It is transforming through a “dark night of the soul” and cycling through layers of “shadow work” to acknowledge, accept and work with or on our “flaws” to find our real truth. You have to be open to the absolute honest connection with the self and guidance you are receiving. It is not a path of butterflies, rainbows and linear progress. It is a wild ride, and it is so worth it. I am proud of my Journey and collective as we strive to heal and grow and excited to be a graduated wave of healers to finally be able to share my story with others and connect in order to progress. Tarot is also about spirituality and energy work, in a sense, being open to the things you are going to experience that may be just for you, synchronicities, you will see things, feel things, and be enlightened in an eye opening way. Sometimes you can feel a bit nutty! The work slowly starts to meld into your physical life, aligning your chakras, breathwork, dreams, changing cognitive pathways, the way we receive and deliver information, their are so many things that are incorporated in self work , that are further utilized in tarot, and it spreads like the best kind of news.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Brunch at the French Press, Shop and have lunch at the Brutal Poodle on Broadway, Hot springs in Idaho Springs, Red Rocks for a concert, Dino Ridge, or if camping is on the table, Campfire Ranch in Greely is new and it is beautiful and very reasonable pricing for what they provide. for late night or fun times, One Up if its open for games and drinks or Factotum Brewery for a beer and patio sit, and be sure to see if there are any festivals going on! If it is warm we should also go tubing in Golden. If they are bringing the Kids, Kaboom VR in Aurora is a must try!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Lauren Dally from The Dally Grind and Acumama Health is who gave me the confidence to start up my channel that I was putting off for so long! I see her as a mentor and a master who has so much insight and healing to give and teach. Carri Arata, owner of Ancient Body Works, for her wisdom shared about generational healing, the dimensions, and guides and Angels, and for holding space and connecting with me. Northern Comfort Tarot, Empress of Duality, Waterbaby Tarot, Behati Life, The Woke Therapist and the House of Oshun are some amazing creators that I resonate with and have learned from on my personal journey. Friends and Family, and my self, as life hasn’t been what you would call “normal”, and I didn’t always make the best choices I had to learn on my own path and I am so thankful for those who have crossed my path in any way to teach me something, intentionally or metaphorically. “Healing with Chakra Energy”, Restoring the Natural Harmony of the Body, By Lilla Bek and Phillippa Pullar “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne
