Meet Brittney Mekelburg | Spa Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittney Mekelburg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brittney, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to create a place where people could come and feel truly welcome and confident in their own skin. I’ve worked in the beauty and wellness industry, and I saw firsthand how some businesses were more focused on profit than people—selling overpriced or ineffective treatments just to make a sale. That never sat right with me. I wanted to do things differently. My rule has always been: if I wouldn’t sell it to my mom, I wouldn’t sell it to my clients. Starting my own business gave me the freedom to be honest, offer real value, and build genuine trust with the people I serve. It’s about making people feel good, not just selling them something.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work is all about helping people feel confident and empowered in their own skin. What sets me apart is my commitment to honesty and integrity—if I wouldn’t recommend something to my own family, I won’t recommend it to a client. I’m most proud of building CryoChill Spa from the ground up, offering treatments that truly deliver results without the inflated promises or prices I’ve seen in the industry.
Getting here wasn’t easy. I balanced school, multiple jobs, and training, all while dreaming of something bigger. There were moments of doubt, financial challenges, and times I felt overwhelmed. But I stayed focused, kept learning, and surrounded myself with people who believed in me.
One major lesson I’ve learned is that authenticity builds lasting trust. People don’t just come to me for services—they come because they know I genuinely care. What I want the world to know about my brand is this: it’s not about quick fixes or selling trends. It’s about real results, real care, and creating a space where people feel seen, supported, and valued.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d take them to all my favorite spots for the perfect mix of fun, food, and relaxation. We’d kick things off with dinner at Sugar Salt Sand for amazing food and good vibes, then spend a day hiking and paddleboarding at Horsetooth Reservoir to soak in the scenery. One evening, we’d head to Elliot’s Martini Bar for killer martinis and a fun night out. I’d also bring them to CryoChill Spa for a relaxing self-care day with facials or cryotherapy. We’d explore downtown, check out local shops, enjoy a rooftop dinner, and toast to a great week with one last round of drinks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my parents. Their constant support, love, and work ethic have been the foundation for everything I’ve accomplished. They’ve always believed in me, even when I doubted myself, and taught me the value of integrity, hard work, and doing what’s right over what’s easy. Watching them overcome challenges with grace and persistence gave me the strength to start my own business and stay true to my values. I carry their lessons with me in everything I do, and I’m endlessly grateful for their influence on my journey.
