We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brooke, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I knew from a very young age how big my passion was for hair & the beauty industry. I was always the girl in class with her hair done, always wanted to do my sisters hair & makeup, it’s always been apart of who I am. I was an apprentice for over a year after finishing my schooling at the Aveda Institute of Denver, I was very eager to learn everything I could. Then, I was behind the chair for 2 years before I took the leap & opened my own business. I opened up my first salon suite in Northglenn in 2021, & in 2022 I opened my current suite in Sloans Lake. I knew I’ve always had the goal to be my own boss, and I got the chance to learn all the ins & outs of the beauty industry over the years, I was determined I was going to be successful & create a space girls could come to and feel comfortable & always leave feeling beautiful!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Beauty By Brooke LLC is a place you can come & always leave feeling better than you walked in. Not only looks wise because your hair will be beautiful, but because you also get to laugh & have some fun girl talk for a couple hours at the same time. I wanted to create a safe space for girls to come & vent about their lives & also get to feel taken care of. I think it’s rare to find a hairstylist you connect with & look forward to seeing every couple months.
I think all of the experience i’ve had going though every level of the hair industry has helped me get to where I am with expertise, being very timely in getting guests in & out, and making every experience better than the last.
Some challenges i’ve faced have been trying to stay consistent & motivated & not getting burnt out. But everyday I work I get reminded of why I do what I do, I don’t just do this for a paycheck I do this to make people feel good about themselves & my passion for creating bomb hair for my clients.
I’ve learned to never stop learning & trying to keep my spark alive and keep the passion flowing. I’ve learned to be patient with my clients & with myself on long work days.
I want the world to know that I was the girl in high school who was the only one out of my friends not going to a college, and that it was very intimidating & scary for me to take a different path than the rest, & now i’m doing work that I actually enjoy & am passionate about, I’m my own boss & I get to make my own schedule! I get to make people feel beautiful everyday. Alway follow your heart and passions & don’t listen to anyone else.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love to go out & try new restaurant & drink spots all around Denver! I would take them to either 54 Thirty for rooftop drinks over looking the city or Desert Social for an aesthetic cocktail & chatting vibe. For dinner there’s Mizu Izakaya, Bamboo Sushi, & Bartaco! Then I would take them to Happy Camper or Recess Beer Garden for a more upbeat loud music fun vibe! I love Lohi bars & resturaunts.

I also love the Cherry Creek area. Walking around there you’ll always see such cute shops, bars & resturaunts that are always busy & lively. I love Del Friscoes & North Italia. Favorite bar is Forget Me Not!

I’d love to take them to walk Sloans Lake right by my house, it’s a peaceful & pretty walk right under an hour. Also would take them to Red Rocks if we were lucky enough for a concert if not could just go hike or workout there!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would not be the human or hair stylist I am without my parents. They have raised me to be loyal, kind, hard working, and loving to all. They have supported me every step of the way, from going into school & applying to my first salons, to opening up 2 different salon suites. They are my rocks!

I owe so much of the stylist I am today to Melissa Kelly, Owner of Bello Haven Salon + Extensions for giving me the opportunity to work there & gave me a space to grow my career. She taught me everything I know about extensions! If I never worked there, I believe I wouldn’t be the stylist I am today.

I also was mentored by Emi Romero, I was her assistant for a couple years and she taught me so much about blonding, styling, and all around being the best stylist I could be. She has always been my role model!
