We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryan Gentry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bryan, why did you pursue a creative career?
I was always the kid drawing all over desks, folders, anything I could find as a student. Being creative is something I am always drawn too. Whether it was music, painting, designing etc. I think for me career wise, it started with a drive to do music full time. Art and design had a huge role in music, so it just made sense to keep on that side of things. I was lucky enough to be able to apprentice to tattoo while I was home between tours. Once I got off the road with music I transferred right into tattooing full time.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
After I graduated college I switched into pursuing music. I was traveling regionally for some time until I was offered a spot with an international band called Hemlock. We hit the road hard for years traveling the USA, Japan, and Canada on tour. After my wife and I found out we were pregnant I decided to switch things up and pursue tattooing full time. I managed a shop in Nebraska for some time and eventually opened my own location in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Most of the time out in Denver include myself and friends out playing pool at Tarantulas, grabbing street tacos or at West of surrender eating something delicious!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a great crew of tattoo artists I get to be around. I love being in an industry of like minded and awesome artists at my shop and the many talented artists around the world we connect with while traveling!
