Meet Buck Adams | Entrepreneur – Social change activist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Buck Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Buck, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It was an idea that came to fruition from my time being incarcerated. Seeing so many talented artist that did not have a way to share their talent or to be seen, I started to formulate the business plan and when I got out with the support from some friends was able to launch the business.

What should our readers know about your business?
Prison Art LLC DHA Art for Redemption. What sets us apart is that we focus on art that has been done behind the walls. Art has always been able to transcend barriers and time, Being a returned citizen I know that the barriers and time behind the walls are a different reality. It’s hard to explain but, it’s truly a different world. Hope can be lost, and without hope I believe we loose a part of our humanity. By providing a pathway for these artist to potentially sell their art and creat a way to pay restitution, child support and other societal debts along with potentially having a small saving for re-entry can be life changing behind the walls. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Summer time mountains –  I would start in Marble CO and take them to Crystal Mill and the Punch Bowls on Schofield Pass.  Hike Yule Creek to Paradise Basin and enjoy food at Slow Groovin BBQ after.

Denver would do\ various bike rides around the city as I think it’s the best way to explore Denver. Take a hiking & camping trip to the Timberline Lake in Leadville. A great work out and peaceful views of a 11 000feets lake. Perfect spot for a night under the stars.

Food:

Garibaldi’s fried cactus tacos are amazing.
La Belle French Bakery for a true experience of french patisserie.
Love the pizzas from Famous J’s.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Ex – without her I would not have been able to be where I am today. Although our relationship has ended my gratitude for what she has done for me remains and she deserves a lot of credit for helping me through most of their last decade.
