Meet Caitlin Kaercher Abigail Evans | Co-founders of Doing Unique Business

We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitlin Kaercher Abigail Evans and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caitlin Kaercher, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
“Fake it till you make it.”
We get the sentiment—act confident while you’re still finding your footing—but sometimes, it can feel more like pressure than empowerment. The truth is, real confidence comes from knowledge, and knowledge takes time. Mastery is earned, not mimicked.
We believe in showing up as a work in progress. People are drawn to authenticity far more than perfection. You don’t need to have all the answers—you just need the willingness to learn, grow, and be seen in the process.
That doesn’t make you less credible. If anything, it makes you more human, and often, more relatable.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets DUB Network apart from other networking groups is that most of us are young entrepreneurs—right in the thick of building our businesses and expanding our networks. We’re not walking in with decades of established connections; we’re just getting started. And that can feel intimidating. But being surrounded by others in the same stage creates something powerful: community.
Our niche is music, and that’s our common ground. Unlike traditional networking groups, we bring people together through live bands, DJs, and a shared appreciation for music—especially EDM. I don’t know of another networking group in Colorado Springs doing it quite like this, and so far, the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
When we first started, we had no idea what we were doing. But we did have a goal: to connect people authentically. A lot of folks don’t openly share their love for EDM because of the stigma around it—but we lean into it. Our first event? No one showed up. It was definitely humbling, but it taught us a lot. We took the feedback, stayed consistent, and kept showing up. That’s how this community has grown—and we’re just getting started.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’ve both recently had friends and family visit, and naturally, we had to show off some of our favorite local spots. For food, our go-to places are Jake & Telly’s, Shuga’s, and The Rabbit Hole—each one offering its own unique vibe. And no visit is complete without a stop at El Taco Loco in Manitou Springs—an absolute must!
We also love taking guests out to explore the beautiful hiking trails around here, especially in Green Mountain Falls and Red Rock Open Space.
And of course, we always make time for live music. The local scene is incredible, with venues like The Armadillo Ranch, Kinfolks, and Lulu’s Downtown showcasing some seriously talented artists.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The electronic dance music scene is what first sparked a connection between Abigail and Caitlin. When they met at a local networking group, they quickly discovered their shared love for EDM—and more importantly, the values it represents. The PLUR philosophy—Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect—isn’t just part of the music culture they admire, it’s a mindset they carry into their daily lives and professional spaces.
As young professionals, their passion for EDM might seem unconventional or even taboo to some—but for Abigail and Caitlin, it’s a reflection of their commitment to authenticity and individuality.
