Meet Cameron Robbert | Aquatics Director, Trainer & Aspiring Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Robbert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cameron, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Earlier in my life, when I thought of a proper work life balance, a scale which was equally distributed on both sides was what came to mind. In fact, it was what I strived for! However, the more I thought about it, the less I found it applied to the reality of life.
A scale in that state is only balanced if there are no changes to the distribution of those weights, it even assumes the surface it rests upon is perfectly level. Over time, I’ve found that life rarely affords those components. Like anything, a person’s ability to balance work and life is fluid – largely due to factors that are out of their control!
I believe it’s far healthier and more productive to acknowledge that you’ll rarely, if ever, find yourself in a position of a true balance, where work and life are equally distributed. There will be times in life where it is necessary to shift the balance in favor of work, and vice-versa. Therefore, it is advantageous to focus more so on purposefully responding in a manner which levels the playing field.
Today, I perceive work and life as a ship in the open water. At times, it certainly feels like I am at the mercy of the work-induced waves. However, my response is to provide a steady and stable hand that keeps the ship afloat – there are always calmer seas ahead!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In 2020, I finally decided to pursue a passion of mine by starting a social media presence. I have always been a creative person and have always wanted to create content that can engage and inspire people.
In the beginning, it was incredibly difficult to stand out and engage with an audience. I first began to see a change when I committed to posting 6 times a day on TikTok, I felt that I had to commit to putting content out there to better engage with an audience. In addition, I started to consider the value of identifying myself as a brand, It’s incredibly important to understand yourself as a creator. The best way to learn more about yourself, is to just do it! Putting yourself out there can feel intimidating, but you will never grow if you never try.
Something I’d like the world to know about my brand is that it does not take a special person, to do special things. While my goal is to motivate and inspire others to lead healthy and active lives, I, by no means, consider myself as an extraordinary individual. I am a regular person who tries to make the most of the time I have. Don’t let life pass you by!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As both a resident of Broomfield, and a foodie by nature, I’d have to begin with Old Philly Town. Now, you may ask, “what makes this place so good?”. To which I would reply, “everything.”. The world’s greatest cheesesteaks are handcrafted in this heavenly establishment. Don’t be surprised if you start hearing more frequencies and seeing a wider color spectrum after chowing down on a one-of-a-kind cheesesteak.
After acquiring sufficient sustenance, my next recommendation would be to work off some of that fuel at Train Station Gym in Longmont. Perhaps, you may even indulge yourself in a Kickboxing Class led by none other than myself.
Time to unwind! One of my favorite places to relax would be to go enjoy some time outside. It’s Colorado, I find it to be more fun to go explore and find a new park/space to spread out.
For Dinner, I would recommend Fogo de Chao, or Mizu Izakaya. Located in downtown Denver and LoHi respectively. Do you enjoy endless amounts of perfectly cooked meat OR the best Japanese food and experience ever? If you’re a fellow person of culture, then these are the spots for you.
Random experiences I endorse: Goat Yoga at the Orchard in Brighton, a weekend getaway to the mountains, a trip to the Denver Aquarium, and people watching in Boulder.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents deserve all the credit in the world for any, “success”, I’ve managed to acquire thus far. As a child of adoption, I have a deep appreciation for the concept of family. My family is not dictated by blood, but rather, by love.
My parents have always encouraged me to pursue my dreams with a relentless passion. They have, and continue to dedicate their entire lives’ to ensuring I have every possible chance at success. I would be nowhere near the person I am today without them.
To my parents, thank you for everything you do and I love you more than anything.
