Meet Camila Bruce

We had the good fortune of connecting with Camila Bruce and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Camila, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Expectation is the root of suffering. I’ve learned that rejection is often protection—or a redirection—toward something more aligned with my truth, rather than what my ego thinks it wants. When I expect things to unfold in a very specific way, I tend to feel disappointed, because I’m trying to control outcomes that are simply beyond my control. That kind of effort becomes exhausting—and even physically painful.
That said, don’t get me wrong: having a vision and taking intentional steps toward it is absolutely necessary. But remaining flexible about the outcome tends to bring even better results than I could have imagined. Why? Because I’m allowing the universe to bring me what I truly deserve—not just what I think I deserve, which is often limited by human perspective.
When I release control and surrender to the process, what arrives is often more aligned with my soul’s desires—even if I don’t immediately recognize it. That’s why I’ve committed to staying curious, flexible, playful, and faithful to my intuition. I deeply trust that the universe—God, Spirit, whatever you want to call it—has my back. So even when the outcome looks ‘bad’ or different than what I envisioned, I now understand that there’s a higher purpose unfolding. It’s either guiding me toward something that truly honors my worth, or revealing a lesson or insight that ultimately transforms that perceived setback into a blessing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m known as Cami Luminous—a Colombian soul rooted in the wild beauty of Colorado for over a decade. My life is a living weave of cultures, talents, and textures, all braided into my heart-led brand, LUMINOUS. Through sacred photography, women’s circles, and retreats, I support women on the path of remembering—who they are, what they carry, and where their power lives.
Back in 2020, I was one of the first to offer Spiritual Self-Empowerment through Goddess Photography—a practice that became the spark for something much greater: gathering women to rise in their sacred remembrance and reclaim their inner light.
My story is a tapestry of contrasts and colors. Raised Catholic, yet deeply rooted in the wisdom of my Indigenous ancestors. Surrounded by artists, musicians, and dreamers—immersed in creativity and expression—yet still shaped by the quieting grip of patriarchy. So many years of repressed emotions, feelings, of being. It was within this dance of silencing and singing (literally, I’ve been singing AND dancing since I was a baby), that I began to uncover my own voice. The voice of a woman remembering her magic. Her softness. Her fire. Very slowly.
When covid hit, my greatest teacher emerged: surrender. The art of releasing control. To get curious. Trusting the unseen. Listening to the whispers of spirit over the noise of the world. I came to understand that my worth has never been tied to my productivity. That I do not have to earn my rest. Rest is not indulgence—it is my right. A sacred return to self, to source, to truth. Which has not been easy, but the more I practice intentionally doing these things, the easier it gets.
Now, I walk beside women who are ready to leap. To believe. To trust themselves instead of contorting into the boxes that were never meant to hold them. I am soft—yes—but unwavering in my devotion to their liberation. I guide them into the remembrance of their infinite worth and power. To see that their bodies are not burdens, but vessels of wisdom and magic. That beyond the skin, the soul speaks. That our flesh carries stories—ancestral and new—and that beauty lives in the whole of who we are. We bridge spirit and flesh through our wombs… how powerful and divine are we?? We deserve to be seen, understood, held and loved unconditionally. ESPECIALLY by OURSELVES.
This is the kind of safe space I hold: for the thresholds, the transformations, the sacred rites of passage. The deaths and the rebirths. The shedding and the rising. And in it all, I know this to be true—we are divinely held. Even in our unraveling, we are always being guided home.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Mmm, fun!!
First off, we’d kick things off with a trip to Horsetooth Reservoir—driving around to soak in the views, having a sweet little picnic, some Tarot cards and of course, some splash time in the water. After soaking up the sun, we’d head over to Old Town to stroll, chill, and maybe sip on a delicious coffee from Lima Coffee. We’d definitely stop by Flamingo Boutique for some playful thrift shopping.
For dinner? Yellow Crunch in Old Town—because COLOMBIAN FOOD is a must!
We’d also take a little road trip to Estes Park. We’d have breakfast at the Pancake House in Fort Collins, head to the Rockies for a little hike and sightseeing, visit the historic (and slightly spooky) Stanley Hotel, and pop into their esoteric gift shop for some magical treasures. After that, we’d unwind with tea at SereniTea’s Room & Cafe—so fun and magical. They actually have fun hats and props to wear! On the way back, we’d close out the weekend with some grounding time at the Environmental Learning Center Natural Area—perfect for a sunset walk and some slow, intentional breathing & grounding with nature. Dinner at Cheba hut! or Crisp n’ Green for a lighter vibe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Too many to mention!! In truth, right now I just want to give credit for myself cause I’ve been doing it mostly on my own. And that’s why I hold space for others, so they don’t have to go it alone, like I’ve had to for the most part. I do want to say, as cheesy as it sounds, that my partner, my parents, my brother and closest friends have been a huge support and am forever and infinitely grateful for them.
