We had the good fortune of connecting with Camila Bruce and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Camila, how does your business help the community or world?
My life purpose as a Light Worker and Artist, is to help others find their Divine Purpose on this Earth plane. It has been a long journey to get to the point in which I could combine my talents and my joy of helping others step into their full power and Higher Self. I create EXPERIENCES through which there is Shadow & Light work involved, leading to a photographic session to embody that Higher Self within, that will help in following that true purpose path. I am a love and light seed spreader. I am an encourager of compassion, and this is what my business is all about. I feel that with the recent state of the world, compassion is a huge thing that we are needing. Compassion for ourselves and others. My experiences help that compassion speak and come through, so we can all be beacons of light and love in this world through our Divine Purpose! <3
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
It’s been a 22 year road to get to where I am. And everyday is hard work! But once you find the true that sparks your heart, your true purpose, then doing the work becomes a joyful thing and it barely feels like work! I’ve been a photographer of all kinds of genres and subjects. I have photographed events, people, weddings, children, families, products, commercial… what have you. However, photographing women always had a very special place in my heart. I had a massive Spiritual Awakening this past May (I had been on the path for years but really awoke with Covid and all things happening in the world this year), which led me to understand my true purpose and what I needed to do. It wasn’t easy. What kept me going was the profound love I hold for my craft, as well as a deep knowing that this is what I was supposed to do. So I kept pushing. With my Awakening, I went deep into enhancing healing and psychic talents that had been always there within me, and found a way to combine that with my love for photography. I’ve always had a tremendous desire to help others on their own journeys, and surely enough, people has always seeked me for advice (even strangers!), but I never understood why, until recently. Recently I became Certified for Holy Fire® Reiki I&II practices, and will also have my Certifications for Shamanic Journeying and Spiritual Coaching by the end of this year. When I came to live in the US 6 years ago, I found photography to be a sacred tool to help me deal with the transition, and to show love and compassion to myself and my body. I started seeing myself in a different light. I BROKE FREE of societal and cultural bondage. This really inspired me to want to do this for other women and came up last year with my Break Free Photo Sessions/experiences, to help women Break Free of trauma and bondage imposed from early childhood. With my awakening, I went back to reading the Osho Zen Tarot, which I’ve been doing intuitively for about 24 years, so I incorporated readings as part of my Break Free photo experiences. I found that reading the cards beforehand for my clients, allowed us to become closer, and gave me a better understanding of where they’re coming from, thus giving me more tools to make their experiences more custom, intimate and enlightening. I wanted my photo sessions to be so much more than getting “pretty pictures taken”, and to expand the experience beyond the day of the shoot. I wanted the experiences I offered to be a real tool to lead women into a journey of true self love, self healing, and Breaking Free. So I teamed up with wonderful women to offer with my sessions Yoga, Reiki and massage. But this kept evolving. A few months ago, I had an Oracle reading with a Goddess deck that inspired me to want to make my clients actually feel and step into the power of their inner Goddess, their Higher Self, and so came out with my Goddess Embodiment Experiences as part of my Break Free sessions, which consist of Meditation, Reiki Healing and a Tarot+Goddess Oracle reading that leads to a Goddess Embodiment photo shoot as a result. My clients have to go through Shadow and Light work to be able to embody their Higher Self, their Goddess self. And this is what I’m specializing on at the present moment. With this, I also launched my first women retreat that will take place on October 23rd through the 25th this year. I am envisioning doing retreats every few months in different sacred and energetically charged locations, to inspire women to keep working on themselves and ignite their inner lights. This first retreat will take place at the Sand Dunes, and will include Yoga, Meditation, Shamanic Journeying, Tarot+Oracle readings, healthy eating and of course, spectacular photo shoots, amongst other fun things!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely recommend going to the Rockies area, Estes Park, the Arts district in Denver (Rhino & Santa Fe), Fort Collins for beer, The Mishawaka, museums in downtown Denver. Aspen, Vail, Telluride & Breckenridge are spectacular… OMG so many places to visit! The beautiful Painted Mines and the Sand Dunes, the hot springs all over Colorado. If you enjoy nature, camping in the mountains is a must! There’s also glamping options! There’s plenty of yummy food in Denver for both vegetarian and meat eats, bars, music, the Selfie Museum and Wonder Wonder in Boulder to take fun selfies with friends! Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins is also one of my favorite places! I could go on…
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
