We had the good fortune of connecting with Cara Pernas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cara, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have been a music educator for 10 years, and I absolutely love my job; however, I could not deny the calling within for energy healing. After getting attuned as a Reiki practitioner in the beautiful mountains of Boulder, Colorado, I realized that this journey was just beginning. I was being called to serve. This was the initial spark. This spark is now fully ablaze! My passion to serve others and aide in their healing has grown tremendously and inspired me to get my business started.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation with the intention of healing on all levels. This practice can be performed by touch and through distance healing. I have always been conscious of Spirit within me. To serve others with Reiki is an extension of my soul and it brings me the utmost joy. I have the ability to connect to my clients on various levels, always giving them a safe space to share and release. I am a being of Love and it radiates throughout my sessions with my clients. They trust me, they feel safe, and they always feel release once our sessions are complete. My business journey is only just beginning and Covid has brought it’s challenges. Being able to offer one on one sessions has been nearly impossible for the safety of my clients and myself; however, being able to offer distance Reiki through Zoom or FaceTime has been a blessing. I have grown in my energy and in my practice having to primarily focus on sending distance Reiki to clients all over the country. It has taught me to trust in myself and my abilities with a greater insight and depth.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have only been living in Colorado for a year and a half, but I have fallen in love with Boulder. Hiking the mountains of Boulder and the Flatirons is always a good time. Walking down Pearl street, you get to experience eccentric people filling the air with music and chanting and expressing their arts through street performance. Boulder is full of small businesses to support, including eclectic shops and amazing restaurants. A favorite of mine is Shine Community found on Canyon Blvd. It is a paleo, vegetarian, completely gluten-free restaurant with hand-crafted herbal intentional potions! So yummy!   The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my ShoutOut to my sister Alexis Comardo. She has been my rock and voice of reason throughout my journey of self discovery and energy healing and I wouldn’t be where I am without her!
