Meet Carla Aparicio | Photographer and multidisciplinary artist.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carla Aparicio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carla, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

IT WAS NOT REALLY INTENDED TO BECOME A BUSINESS, BUT TO KEEP FOLLOWING MY PASSION.  I needED to transform my “flat”photography into an art object that WENT into higher and different dimensions. I wantED to collaborate and be part of something bigger than my own expression.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

WHAT KEEPS ME GOING IS MY CONSTANT NEED FOR CHANGE AND EVOLUTION. My life and my art have been going through many stages of transformation  Hand Weaving my photography has been one of these new manifestations. I have the honor to co create and collaborate with Blossom Rugs, The Art Rug and Punto MX. We are uniting intentions, cultures and being part of the interconnected web of creative souls.

I have also started to collaborate with a painter friend, that intervenes my photography with paint, textiles, writings and more to come.

It’s taken me many years from visualizing what I want to create, and then making it happen. The end results have been so much different and better from what I thought. Collaborating and co creating with such different approaches and perspectives, have made me let go of the outcomes. It’s been a challenge and an amazing and extremely fun life lesson.

My story and my brand are the physical/visual manifestation from a place of constant need of exploring the world and people around me, as well as self inquiry, self transformation and growth.
These process have brought me back to my authentic self and personal evolution.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
