We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlo Bulgheroni and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carlo, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I began my journey in Colorado in August 2021. I came to the US to study at CU Boulder. I really had no expectations about college and the lifestyle behind it. Going through the first semester, I realized that my life stage wasn’t parallel with the average freshman at CU. Basically, I didn’t want to change to get on well with other people, so I dec++++ided to keep doing what I love, even though I knew I was going in the opposite direction. My main passions are sports, but I have always been interested in discovering new places and never stop exploring, mainly because you always end up learning something new. I knew how to cure my sports passion: basketball, soccer, golf, and skateboarding were my main hobbies. Other than that, I consider myself a very productive person. Throughout the years, I learned how to manage time and college gave me the opportunity to continue my studies, and my passions and to start investing my time in new ideas. I really wanted to get busy, to end up going to bed tired and waking up the next day conscious that I’m making the most out of my days. This are the thoughts that are still living in my mind, because it is very easy to say it but very difficult to do it. But the good thing is that I’m able to recognize when I’m being productive. To answer the question, my thought process behind starting my own business was to make the most out of my days, with things I like, knowing I have the opportunity and ability to do so. I know there’s people that need to work during their college experience and have less time to cultivate their passions. Usually I say to them that they need to be proud of what they’re doing. And even if they think that the things they could do other than college and work are very little, they count as double, because they make you focus, and they would count for your learning if in those seconds, minutes or hours you commit, you are able to forget about what surrounds you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
All I want to teach is the ability and effort to always listen to yourself. That’s how you overcome challenges. Simply because when you stop listening to yourself, and you start to get influenced by other people’s opinion, you will start overcoming their challenges. Everyone is different. Following a path that is not ours will make us struggle in the long-run, since that path wasn’t originally studied by us. Long story short, I’m always open to listen other people, but I strongly value myself and the way I think.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take him to get some Nepalese food in the Nederlands and fly fish from the shore of the lake while the sun goes down. I personally love the golden hours. To share these moments with a friend makes them even more special. Since I’ve spent a year in Boulder, I would recommend everyone to explore the nature that surrounds the city. Walker ranch and the Boulder fall are an example of where I really liked to go.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shoutout to my family. They have always supported me and I am sure they will do the same in future.
