We had the good fortune of connecting with Cassie Tingley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cassie, what do you attribute your success to?

What is the most important factor behind your success / the success of your brand?

I believe the factor that makes my brand successful is the reason behind why I do what I do. Learning how to design cakes is difficult in a range of ways but with buttercream? Oh my goodness. It was practice, practice, practice on repeat for a year before I’d even take on a paying client.

For my son, I’d do anything for. Work any amount of hours. Practice until I got it right. I am a one woman show at the moment and you really need to have a good reason “why” sometimes. My husband is truly my biggest cheerleader and partner. Without his constant love and support, the amount of work and time would have felt so unbearable. He makes me feel like I can literally do anything.

I also know that without the support of my clients, I simply wouldn’t be here. The amount of people that repeatedly choose my bakery time and time again, don’t have to do it. I know they have other options and I’m so very grateful for those that trust me with their special occasions/milestones.

I am a very hard worker and I’m so blessed that all of it has worked out so far. I appreciate any and all that support my business in any way!

Thank you so much!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what makes me stand out is my very specific design style. Many people seem to be able to pick my designs out without seeing my bakery attached to the photo. That is exciting! I watched YouTube tutorials until I finally was able to perfect it all. That was something else! Learning how to completely smooth out buttercream was so hard and I’m so grateful to be on the other side of it.

I’ve learned to not sweat the small stuff and deal with things as they come. I try not to overthink designs or recipes and follow my instincts.

I want the world to know that family is so important and to keep them as close as you can! Even if that means doing something scary or out of your comfort zone like starting a business!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh, wow! So many places! We’ve only been stationed here 5 years but I’d definitely say Frozen Gold, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Fat Sully’s, Manitou Springs….so much!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My loving and incredibly supportive husband Ethan. He runs errands for me, finds boxes randomly because I forgot them on my list or even down to grabbing more butter for me from the grocery store. He follows behind me as much as he can and cleans to help alleviate my workload. I’m truly blessed.
