We had the good fortune of connecting with Cathy Craft and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cathy, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
From a young age I have always been drawn to creating. I think I can express myself in ways words never could. As a creator of content in both photography and design for couples, I believe I give a voice to my couples and share their unique story.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It still amazes me that I get to do what I love for work. With every journey, there’s been setbacks, but if anything it has assured me I am on the right path. When I was just starting out, I made business cards for myself that said “make small things with great love” and that has still held true to this day. If I can leave an impact of love and thoughtfulness in what I can create, I know I have done good work.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Taichi to sit and talk over some bubble tea. To stay on theme, I would take them to Han Noodle Bar for some Chinese. We’d visit local book and stationery/art stores because I am always in search of the perfect next journal to write in. I would take them to a play cafe, so my son could play while we connect. And I’d check out what local artists are playing so we could check out some new music.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My sweet family – their constant love and tenacity has kept me going. From helping me stuff envelopes, or watching my son on a long wedding day, my husband has been my absolute rock for my business. And I also have to credit my friends in the wedding industry. There are some amazingly talented creatives out there! But once you get to know them, you find out how truly gems of human beings they are. They go above and beyond for their clients, and it is truly inspiring. Be sure to check out Eliza Jane Events, Iburi Photography, and Shell’s Sweets, just to namedrop a few.
