We had the good fortune of connecting with cayden nigh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi cayden, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
One of the most interesting things when first learning about fashion are the production times. When developing a full cut and sew collection, brands are projecting how fashion will look and feel in 6 months – 1 year ahead of time.

What should our readers know about your business?
House of Nigh is an emerging fashion line based in Denver, Colorado. We feel we are set apart by strictly following our ethos. Building timeless pieces, while remaining eco conscious, and fair trade, with an approachable price point.

It’s always easier to take short cuts and go the cheaper route. So naturally we have run into problems moving in the opposite route. The most consistent issue we run into is time. When you have a clear vision and high standards for the pieces you build, it can add weeks to months to years in your sampling process depending on the complexity. We have learned not only a lot of patience but the ways your product will feel, fit and drape from when its just an idea to the final product.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My friends know to expect a busy weekend, haha. There are so many great restaurants, bars and cafes in the city. With a couple favorites being, Cart-Driver, Trve, The Wild, Ratio Beerworks and Mutiny Cafe. One of my favorite pastimes is checking out thrift shops and vintage stores on South Broadway, there are so many hidden gems tucked besides great restaurants in the area.

If you’re feeling burnt out in the city Estes Park is a great get a way thats only a short drive from Denver. Naturally making it up to the mountains is a must if some friends are in the area. I love snowmobiling in the Winter Park area, or snowboarding at Vail and bumming it in the village.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Anyone who shows appreciation or support for your business deserves a shoutout. Whether it’s a new fans of the company, co-workers, your best friends or family. Im fortunate to who too many to name, I would like to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us from the very beginning. We are only here because of you.
