We had the good fortune of connecting with Chad Noble and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chad, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I’ve been in the mortgage business since 1999 and I think I was going at max speed in my younger days. Getting older and having kids has taught me to slow down. I’m very lucky that I get to live in Summit County. I make time to get outside as much as I can. I take an hour first thing in the morning or at the end of the day to enjoy outdoor activities. This keeps me refreshed and happier at work.

I’ve learned to have balance in life. It is not just about working as hard as possible to get to the next level. You have to take time to enjoy life and let the warm sun hit your face. I think about balance by prioritizing things like vacations or taking an afternoon off to go ski with my kids.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My brand is the Summit County Lender. What’s important to me about that is I want to be a resource and a friend. I want to be able to answer my client’s questions so they feel informed. And at the end of the loan closing I want to be able to go to happy hour and celebrate. I work hard for my clients. I learned not to take no for an answer when something doesn’t go right on a loan. It is not about being persistent. It is about being creative and persistent.

There have been a lot of ups and downs in my business over the years. And some of the downs haven’t been fun. But I love working with my clients and that keeps me going. And I am very proud my clients consider me a friend after their transaction has closed.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to ski but summer in Summit County has so much to offer. Here is an epic itinerary of things we would do. We would start on Lake Dillon and grab a drink at the Frisco Marina. From there I would take my motor boat out on the lake and cruise around and enjoy the mountain views. The lake provides a different perspective looking at the mountains. Then we would hang out for a few hours and listen to a concert at the Lake Dillon Amphitheater. They get some really good shows.

The next day we would start a brewery tour. It sounds dangerous but it wouldn’t be that bad. I would start at Baker’s Brewery for lunch in Silverthorne and get the Snowbird chicken sandwich on homemade focaccia bread. Then not far away we would hit Angry James Brewery and sit outside. Then get a little exercise on a quick hike at Sapphire Point or the Oro Grande trail. Both have amazing views of Lake Dillon. Then in Frisco we would have to hit Outer Range Brewery and Highside Brewery. Each brewery is a little different and has their own style. Angry James has more German style beers and Outer Range is more IPAs. Summit County has an amazing brewery scene and I would definitely recommend checking it out.

I enjoy the T-shirt shops in Breckenridge. They are always good for a laugh. I still feel like a tourist walking on Breckenridge Main Street. It is worth exploring. And you can catch the gondola from town and go ride the alpine slides in the summer at the ski hill.

Lastly, I would rent bikes and ride downhill from Copper Mountain to Frisco or from Vail Pass to Frisco. You really have to do as many things outside as possible. There are so many great memories you can make in Summit County.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife keeps me going and is always ready for the next adventure. She is supportive and always helps me go after the biggest dreams. We plan as many vacations as possible. In fact I think we have our vacations planned for the next 18 months. We work hard to get to our next vacation and she is always keeping me going. She is good at the small details while I am the big dreamer. I can’t express enough how beneficial it is to have a true partner.
