We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Anthony and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, what role has risk played in your life or career?
The most educational experience one person can obtain will be when they get out of their comfort zone. Voluntarily or forced, no matter what, you will come out a much stronger person in the end. Everyone of my movements forward I can attribute to taking a risk. I would have never known if I did not try.

Sometimes the hardest part about taking a risk is being worried about failing in front of peers or relatives. Other times it is just the physical pain of it. In my career risk I deal with risk on more a physical  level first and try to calculate it mentally as well. So I have to balanced between what the limit is and what is too far. I carry the same mantra into my business. But in my business the balance between life and death is not as big of issue as when I am out skiing for the camera. But I can still carry the philosophy from one to the other.  As I have for most of my life because I had nothing to lose.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
This is a very interesting question. A great man once said if you never feel like you worked a day in your life but you went to work everyday then you must of done something right. I think everyone would love to strive for this. But does not always work out that way. I have paid my dues with some horrible jobs to realize that I cherish doing something I love to a point that making money and having a financially stable life maybe never will happen. You also have to most likely give up the basics to do what you love. Like everything it is a give and take. Well at least for me.   Ultimately I ended up where I am at by just trying to survive. It was obvious that I was never going to make a tremendous amount of money as I just have a hard time be ruthless demanding more for what I love to do.  Even if I did demand more for it.  They economics is not there to earn more.  But I am rich in my soul. I tried every kind of job as well as applied for a ton careers. I never seemed to fit into the corporate system seamlessly like so many can do.  I blame this on my father. He did everything on his own.  He worked his tail off so he could do what he loved and provide for a family.   I am truly blessed to have had such a father.   Rather than take orders he would invent a position in which he could have more control of his destiny. I never witness my father report to “The Man”. If he ever did have a boss I missed it.   He was always very creative utilizing the world around him to create jobs that allowed survival in the environment he loved. It only work if he had his finger on the pulse.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Well I would try to take them to the little places off the beaten path. The community events hosted by the town, neighborhood and focus on the owner operated businesses. Share personal connections to places that could give them the experience of the environment Basically a very personalize experience of things that only you as the host know.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow… There are so many people and places the have influenced my decision making. I would have to say the ones that completely opened a door for me and challenged me came very early in my life. My father, Vino Anthony, Skiing Hall of Fame and Olympian Andy Mill, Skiing Legend Mile Farny, As far as something that made me really think was documentaries like “The Defiant Ones” – Which basically told me to be willing to give up everything in order to move forward. In a way I have to credit all the people that also canceled me out or did not give me chance. I was forced to adapt.
