We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Aunan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, how do you think about risk?
If I start a business, I am risking putting myself in a financially difficult position should everything fall apart. On the otherhand, if I don’t risk starting my own business, I am risking that I work an 8-5 and retire at the age of 65 without having seen or done half the things I want to do. The latter sounds far worse to me. I’m young. If the business fails you can recover. But you can never get back time lost. Life is all about risk. Be bold and take the steps forward that 99% of people won’t take.

What should our readers know about your business?
Alphalit Colorado Springs provides Marquee letter rental for weddings, baby showers, proposals, parties, sporting events, or anything you can think of! Starting a business isn’t easy, but the most reassuring part about owning your own business is that its success is directly related to how much effort you put in (at least up to a point). At some point you need to find a few people you trust and split up tasks because there are only so many hours in a day and its difficult to do everything on your own.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite place to go out in Colorado Springs is the corner of Moreno and Tejon (just south of downtown). One of my favorite taco places is here (Dos Santos), and there are a ton of different options for food and drink depending on what you are feeling for the night!
