We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
We have a guitar and record and repair shop on Colfax in Lakewood. It’s definitely an economically depressed area, so we have lots of struggling people that we help with heavily discounted repairs and supplies. Music can be very healing and often times it’s one of the few things that people have.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to think that I know when an instrument is adjusted to perfection, as good as it can be. It makes a big difference ln the way it performs for the musician. While I wouldn’t presume to say I’m some world-class guitarist, the fact that I’ve played thousands of guitars in all my years allows me to know what needs to be done to optimize any guitar!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Red Rocks concert. Hiking. Simms Steakhouse

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say my father. He loved playing guitar and bass since before I was born and he was a big influence on me
