We had the good fortune of connecting with Scottie Bolin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Scottie, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
I am incredibly happy that we recently released our debut studio album, “Morsel”, September 24th on the Americana Vibes record label. The album was produced by Chris Pandolfi, banjo player for the Grammy Award winning Infamous Stringdusters, and we are incredibly excited and happy to get our first project out into the world!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
This album showcases the different songwriting styles and backgrounds that each of us have in the band. We try to cover a lot of ground stylistically, and love being able bring a bluegrass nuance to a rock and roll edge and vice versa. I think this album does a great job of displaying our different influences and what we each bring to the table as songwriters and musicians.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely a show at Red Rocks or the Mission Ballroom!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First of all we want to shoutout Chris Pandolfi for producing our album and bringing the project to life. Without the guidance of Panda we would not have been able to create what we did. We also want to thank Xandy Whitesel for engineering and mixing the album as well as Anna Frick for mastering the album. We also want to thank all of our Kickstarter supporters, without their support we would not have been able to go into the studio in the first place, so to all of our friends, family, and fans we really appreciate all of the support, thank you!
