We had the good fortune of connecting with Christy Avis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christy, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
In my life and my business, I’ve always taken risks with the mindset of “what decision would the future version of me make who knew it would all work out?” And from that space, I’ve had illogical results within my business and my income because I made decisions to invest not from what was comfortable, but from where I wanted to be.
I’ve seen that if we make decisions based on where we are, it results in slow logical growth. But when we make decisions based on what the next level version of ourselves would do and where we want to be, we move quickly. This kind of risk-taking comes only when you believe in yourself and that results are inevitable.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is centered around helping others grow their businesses massively in deep alignment. When I say alignment, I mean not sacrificing in order to have the money and clients. This is deeply based in energetics and mindset work, and when you follow powerful energetic principles in the way you trust yourself and your success, strategy is a natural extension of that.
I also teach human design alignment which is a blueprint for how each person is meant to make decisions and interact with the world for their own path of least resistance. We are meant to have thriving businesses AND joyous lives. We are meant to love our work and service while having thriving relationships.
This is about a holistic approach to running an online business.
The path for me to be a successful business coach was not easy. I was working in corporate America and had a good job in marketing. As a 23-year-old (26 now), getting paid what many senior marketing executives make, I should have been happy. But I knew that my soul wanted more expansiveness in what was possible. I wanted more time freedom, for my income to no longer be capped by anything but me, and to focus on things that I was passionate about.
I started my business as a virtual assistant helping online business and spiritual coaches grow their businesses by running the behind-the-scenes for them. As I learned more and more about business coaching, I desired to become one so I could impact more people. I was working long hours and even though I was making good money, I wanted to work less, serve more, and love everything I was doing in my business.
I got certified in human design, continued to hire business coaches, and took risks to be here. I was willing to believe in myself and keep going even when my reality was not mirroring that belief back to me in results YET. The biggest thing that changed everything for me was being willing to show up no matter what, investing in high-level mentors who not only were making the income that I desires to make but were doing it in the way I wanted to do it, and I was completely embodied in and practiced anything I taught in my business.
And when you combine energetics, human design, and strategy in business, It doesn’t matter what you do, what strategy you implement, or the “how,” things work. My clients continue to grow their online businesses and through this work, I stepped into my first full-time year in business being a 6-figure year, and we are on track for a multiple 6-figure year this year (my second full-time year in business.)
The biggest thing I’ve learned is to take risks, keep going, and be so connected to your purpose and vision that you keep going. The results always come from this level of energetic solidity.y \\
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d definitely go to the Viewhouse in Colorado Springs.
We’d also definitely go to Manitou, the mountains, and do some hiking and camping.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All of my business coaches. Genevieve Rackham, Jocelyn Reid, and Kelly Mahalak have played a massive role in my life and business and supported me in creating a 6 figure business (to be multiple 6 figures this year) and in doing it in a way that supports a beautiful work-life balance so I can deeply serve my clients.
